Does £250 for 2 adults and 2 (fussy) kids sound ok?
Also, how do you all keep trak of the money? Do you take the right amoungt out of the bank at the start of the week and just stick to that cash? I'm worried I'll be tempted by my debit card............
I take £100 out at the start of the month and go to the market with that where I stock up on meat and veg. That allows £25 a week for lunchbox stuff, staples and laundry etc. Also my local market usually sells stuff like dustbin bags, soap powder in huge boxes, Nescafe which has foreign writing on it, even bulk bought Campbells condensed soup once when a guy was selling packs of 6 minus their labels. The tray was shrink wrapped with a printed label telling what was in there so I just bought half a dozen trays and went home and wrote on each tin in permanent markerOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things
F U Fund currently at £2500 -
Actually went shopping with a list and a meal planner for 7 days (hurray). I also made myself go to the supermarket which I hate as it is always so busy, and I hate not getting loyalty points, but I know it's cheaper.
Still haven't sorted out my budget properly, trying to pin my husband down to take some responsibility with our debts. I'd like to try and manage on £350 per month including petrol and I've already spent £95 this week. Not sure if I am going to manage it but I'm going to try.0 -
giving it a go this month with an allowance of £50/week for 2 adults, 1 child and 1 dog. Sounds pathetic next to some promises of £50 for 5 adults 3 kids and a small-holding of various animals but we're trying! Managed last 2 weeks on this budget so hopeful of a whole month! No more shopping at Waitrose!!!0

£72.42 spent, £112.58 to last. Shouldn't have to venture out grocery shopping until next Tuesday, and then, all things being equal, it should just be basically, meat (freezer is completely bereft of meat), dairy, fresh fruit and veg for the rest of the month. Ohh, and a bit of pasta, cereal and tinned tuna. So, SHOULD BE very doable.0
