Spent £10 so far this week although I have loads of shopping, it does help that mum and dad are rewarding my good deed of taking them shopping every week by telling me to stick what I want in the trolley when we go round the supermarket. I don't abuse them obviously but it's certainly helping as I'm only putting in things that I really need and not luxury items.

    The £2.00 savers club:£24.00
  • End of week 1 and have spent £99.64 which is more than I had hoped for but seemed to have run out of all the big things like toilet rolls, kitchen rolls dishwasher cubes etc so hopefully the next three weeks will be much smaller. Too many little trips to small tesco too, am going to cut that down this week.

Eleven days into our month (starts with pay day on 26th) and we have spent just over half our budget. But have meals sorted for the next week and overflowing cupboards. No freezer until we move so can't buy meat in bulk but I think we are on target - just!

Just as well - found out on Friday that we are going to need completely new plumbing/gas pipes in the house we have just bought - best part of 10K! And completely unexpected - we had budgeted for the rest of the work needed but the heating system was only meant to be 4 years old and supposedly regularly serviced. Must have been done by a cowboy - our plumber has condemned the whole system!

So we really need to save and make extra money now!

My first grocery challenge and first week finished over slightly over budget at £27.99 :( But still spending less then I used to and I'm finding I am def thinking out what I should buy when I go out unlike before when I used to just throw things in the shopping basket that I liked the look of!

Hopefully should be a cheaper week this week as I tried my slow cooker for the first time on Friday and made spag bol (as quoted in the receipe booklet that came with the MR) :j Havent tasted it yet as froze it all for this week but will let you know if its any good...

Well, 2 weeks in and I have £35 left for top-up shops so thats about £10 a week to spend on fruit, bread & milk, good job we are happy with smartprice stuff! Mind you I still need to buy a couple of things that were out of stock when I went to Asda yesterday that I need for meals. I'm sure if it comes to the crunch I can get creative :p:D

This month I have spent £72.00 in Asda and £20.00 in pets at home(enough dog and cat food for about 2 months)so I have £108.00 to last the rest of the month
  • Doing well so far. Feel like i'm cheating abit though as I had quite allot of food left over from going mad in December. Had my monthly shop arrive today so have just over £40 to last me until 19th Feb for milk, fruit and veg. Going to Costco next Monday to one of the vouchers they sent through so am hoping I won't be too tempted while i'm there. Nikki
