    Hey,

A few days ago I saw a site floating around on the forums where you can enter your postcode and it will show you if your area may be effected from the weather. Any ideas what the site was?

    Thanks!

  • hi guys

i have been reading up on all the posts concerning the cold weather payment and i have also tried to phone ppl to see how we can find out what area's are cold enough to get the payment but with no success. they just gave me number after number that i felt like i was going round in a complete circle which actually did happen as i gave up when i was given the same number i phoned at the start .

so if ppl dont mind i thought we could have a thread were ppl who recieve the payment could put the date of when they recieved it and the 1st part of there postcode. this way we may be able to see if we may be getting 1 or if some1 has and another hasnt.

unfortuantly i havent recieved any payment (YET- its been so cold im sure we should be entitled to it) so i wont be able start the thread! but if/when i do ill let u all know

of course not, we have paid in enough to get contributory benefit, we cant be short of cash!

We cant get full LHA/HB, free prescriptions, free dental etc.
  • I've just checked my postcode, not expecting a payment - the North West hasn't had particularly bad weather compared to some areas. But.... one cold weather payment has been triggered in November :T

I qualified last year, so as there have been no changes in my circumstances, I'm assuming that I qualify this year. I get IS, CTC, CB, CA, and I also receive my son's DLA on his behalf. The extra payment is really helpful, as I have to have the heating on overnight - my son's breathing is compromised when the air temperature drops.

TBH, though, I'd rather the weather didn't get cold enough to receive the payments.

The criteria hasn't changed. As someone who receives IS plus CTC with disability premiums, you qualify.

IB is more than IS with the disability premium.

stop judging and making people feel like scroungers because they are asking for extra money to heat there homes. that lady may have worked everyday for this past 30 year and was made redundant threw no fault of her own.

Don't worry, you'll get used to the scrounger insults the longer you stay here...
