2 payments due for M12 between November 1st and December 8th; I haven't received either yet, but they are due according to the site.
Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?

I've posted similar elsewhere, but this board seems more apt.

My son age 8 in receipt of DLA(obviously comes to me), I get Carers Allowance plus a small amount of Income support, I think maybe because the Carers isn't as much as Income Support alone so I still get some(lone parent I assume)
I also have Child Tax Credits with a disability element

2 triggers for CWP, no payment recieved as yet(I know it can take time but my friend on the same street(child under 5) has had hers already, I checked my bank incase, no money, so thought I would give them a call to give them a nudge incase they had overlooked me as this is the 1st year I have been entitled to it(How long has CWP been paid out for anyway?)

Anyway the woman at DWP tells me I am not entitled as my son is 8, I explained he was getting DLA I still got IS, C.Tax with D.E etc etc, she was adamant I am not entitled, but I think she is wrong, is she?

I popped into the job center the other day and the man there said I was entitled but no payments have been sent out yet...........Confused much!

She said I needed to speak with someone at Income Support, but after failing over 9 times to get through I gave up!
my freind had this last year it is because the part that qualifies you for cwp is disabled child element which is paid by hmrc and not dwp they will do a scan and find it but it takes longer than if you were on there system ie disabled yourself

You are correct you are entitled to the CWP, however there was massive problems with people in the same circumstances last year. IIRC the DWP had to manually detect those on CA/IS and CTC with the disabled child premium. Don't expect these payments any time soon it took several weeks last year for people to get payments whilst others who were eligible for a cwp were getting them weekly.

You can send a wee letter reminding IS that you eligible, don't phone them you will get a 101 different answers and be told to phone this dept that dept.

I knew I was right lol!
Write a letter with the delays that are happening already :rotfl:
I am going to go into the local benefits office in the morning and have a word!
It's not that I am desperate, but it will be nice to put that money in the meter to keep me and the boy warm!

Thanks for the help, oh if I have to write to them who do I send it to, do they have an Email address?
  • A second payment triggered since 7.43 this morning :j

I couldn't find the section about previous temperatures though - I think it was on the Met Office website.
  • Do people in receipt of the old IB qualify for this payment?

i had assumed if people getting ESA got it, we must too. apparently i am wrong.

i also had the feeling i did get a cwp last winter, but again, checking back on my bank statements, i appear to have hallucinated it.

however, i can't understand the rationale whereby it's not available on IB but is on ESA?

could someone explain in simple language using minimal jargon please?

i have no children and do get low rate only care component DLA and my incapacity benefit has a long term and disabled premium, iirc.

    thanks
  • I'm in north west England and there have been 4 payments triggered up to now in my area, I think we got 2 last year.
Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p
It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted:)
    I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p
  • are you entitled to this if you are on maternity allowance?
    thanks
  • are you entitled to this if you are on maternity allowance?
    thanks
    no you are not entitled
  • NR32....3 payments triggered so far.

I'm currently housebound and the extra payments make a real difference to me.

IB is not means tested. Only those on income based ESA qualify for CWPs, in the same way that those on IS qualify.
    Gone ... or have I?
