And that will help a new user how? The poster is a little sensitive, but will be far more upset if they don't know it's on the way sooner or later. But I'm not having a go at sunnyone - the general mood on the boards is usually far more unpleasant where benefits are concerned, which the new user would be wise to bear in mind.

Sunnyone said WE not you, which puts her in the same situation as the poster asking if the CWP is paid to people on IB.

Can't see why that is so hard to understand.

  • We have apparently only triggered one week because despite it being below freezing for 6 days, on day 7 the average temp was plus 1 therefore no payment for that week :( Just had to order more heating oil at a cost of over £500, its no fun at the moment.
I don't know if I'm getting better or just used to the pain.

I take it you don't know how to actually work out the average temp over seven days, if you post something like this.

The average is taken on each day, not over seven days.

Edit: Ignore that - I can't find the linky that told me so, so I could have be dreaming! ;)

You add up the average daily temp then divide by 7.

It was explained to me otherwise - but I can't find the link, so I'm now not sure either way!

I've found the legislation, and I do now agree with you - I also didn't realise that the amount should be only £8.50! It was raised in 2008 and still has not been decreased, but is (along with everything else) subject to change in the Spending Review. ;)
