Do you get any benefits other than DLA? I don't think DLA on it's own qualifies for CWP.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

Since falling off a ladder 5 weeks ago I have been trying to get to grips with the complexity of the benefits systems, it is so difficult to understand how to apply for things, whether you qualify, and where to find out. This site seems on the ball, so here goes ...
My area GU21 has been triggered for a CWP once, and the blurb says you get a CWP of £25 automatically if you are eligible (although they could be slow in making the payment, or it is just possible they may have missed me out even though I qualify)
In the 13 week assessment phase, I have received the first payment of "contribution-based and income related ESA award" at the standard £60.50 per week rate, dated from 11 Dec 2008. I assumed the ESA claim replaced all the old Income Support/Incapacity Benefit claims, at least that is what they told me, so I believe this makes me eligible for CWP.
Suspicious that my original ESA claim did not include a claim for DLA, I subsequently applied for DLA direct to the team at Blackpool - my claim has been accepted but could take weeks to assess. I have been stuck at home, freezing, listening to the whirr the gas meter is making as it races round.
What do you reckon, have I got a case ?0 -
I'm in Glasgow and received a payment on 14/01/09. :T
Considering Scottish Gas have increased my monthly gas D/D to £70 - 1 bedroom flat, single occupancy  it won't exactly break the bank, but it'll help a wee bit.
I need the heating on 24/7 regardless of payments, temperature etc (I have the heating on 24/7 during the summer months) so it's nice to have a wee bit extra to pay the bills. :T0 -
I received a CWP on 14/01/09, first I've ever had. I live in the SA10 area.Between two evils, I always pick the one I never tried before0
