I notice on the PMK site that the date of the next seminar has been announced - and it's in Brum again! Does he ever do them in London?

  • It was the best £99 I ever spent I feel so much better in myself - lunch was funny, I was wondering what all the local eateries thought when hundreds of chunky women descended on them all at once. I went to the chinese over the bridge and also left quite alot of my food. I'm not 100% there with it all yet but I'm definately more aware of what I'm eating and feel so much better for it. Good luck to anyone else giving it a go

  • Hello kezia_jay and thanks so much for your input - v useful!

I'm not actually overweight either, though I'd like to be a little more toned. I'm mainly doing PMK to develope a healthy relationship with food as I feel like I've spent most of my adult life dieting - sometimes to extremes. I would never have been able to leave a box of chocs in the fridge like you do - in the past I would have eaten them all in one go then starved myself the next day to compensate. Not very healthy I know. I've made a lot of progress recently though - I have half a bar of choc sat next to me but I don't want it :j :D. Cheers Paul, and everyone here!
  • Thanks for your comments Snow White.

I did hope my input would be welcomed.

The reason I can leave chocolate in the fridge is mainly because for some reason I can only take chocolate in small amounts before I feel sick.

But if it is there it means when i do fancy it I can satisfy the "need" immediately then forget about it.

It's not quite so easy with crisps because I dont feel sick after them LOL.

I don't keep too many packets of them in the house!

So maybe the idea is to keep just enough treats on hand for emergencies?
  • Hi guys

Just though I would report that I weighed myself today on Day 17 and have lost half a stone. I am so pleased to see that the scales have moved at last. I have also been aiming for 12,000 steps a day and am using the pedometer on my new iPod.

In fact this morning when I was doing some photocopying I was pacing around the copying room trying to build up my step quota! I'm walking down the stairs in the office instead of using the lift and am managing to walk up to floor three at the moment and then have to get the lift to floor six.

I am feeling more positive and not dredding the weekend's social activities as I used to do. I feel more in control of my eating and hope it stays that way.

Good luck to you all! xx
  • Well done golden girl :)

    Yep, that's what I do.

Well done on the loss, goldengirl.

I'm now down to size 10! Today someone commented on my small waist :D. I'm feeling very energetic, doing lots of exercise but I feel the psychological aspect still isn't working for me. I'm still finding it really hard to eat consciously and stop when I'm full.

I know what you mean, Snow White. It may seem obvious, but the way I do it is by not putting on my plate more than I want to eat. And as I live alone I have learned to cook only what I need so that i don't waste food.:)
  • I found it hard to eat consciously and leave a clean plate yesterday when we went out for lunch. We took the kids to Pizza Hut for lunch. I had a tomato and mozarella salad to start which was delicious and managed to leave one small slice of tomato. Next was a large Italian base pepperoni pizza which I shared with my hubby. I had three slices - I really should have had two - but left all the crusts. I also had three cheesey bites from my daughters' pizza which I wolfed down. I really enjoyed it and actually felt a bit too full afterwards although not stuffed.

When cooking a meal, I do what kezia_jay does and put less on my plate and also try and make an effort to leave a little bit on the plate too.

Snow White - I haven't managed to read your previous posts so how much have you lost to date?

I can only dream of being a size ten but an aiming on a 12 - I am currently 18-20.
  • I can't even imagine being a size 12... I think 14 might be more realistic an aim for me. Currently I'm a 22-24 which make clothes shopping so much fun :(.

Today is day 10 and I know that I have lost weight becuase I can feel it in my clothes. Trying hard to resist getting on the scales though... doubt I'll last much longer.

I've listened to the CD most nights and am thrilled to find that he is putting me to sleep (I've had insomnia for years). I am eating less but need to make a conscious effort to not eat in front of the tv/laptop. Did my first exercise class this morning (Aqua) actually found it easier then I thought it would be.... but then again I was the youngest woman there by at least 20 years:rotfl:.

This is definately the easiest thing I have done to lose weight :D.
