    Hi folks

Snow white and Rosie I agree with you.

At the start its more about changing your relationship with food and then once you have managed to do that the weight will come steadily off. I am sure the change in my relationship with food is why I only put on 1.75lbs in December. I wasn't obsessed about food and ate and drank what I wanted when I wanted which in reality meant that I ate less than normal.

Rosie - I don't know about you but the PMK programme is giving me something else to focus which is great cause then I don't keep thinking about the events from October. I have an appointment with my consultant on wednesday to have a chat about things so am trying not to stress and overeat at the moment. Its also nice to think that I could be a bit lighter if we do want to/manage to conceive again :o

How are you all doing? I have to admit to not doing well over the past couple of weeks. I have been eating too much chocolate, especially when everyone is in bed :o

The last couple of days I have been better. I got my PMK book off the bookshelf and put it out on the coffee table. Haven't opened it, but it's reminding me, just by being there. I think the biggest change for me, is that when I am overeating, I am very aware of it now, and can really feel myself ignoring the 'full' signs IYKWIM!!!!!!!
I am always amazed at how quickly I feel as soon as I start eating properly again. Literally within 2 days, believe it or not, I can feel the difference in my trousers. It's probably because I am not as bloated, and it spurs me on to keep going.
Something that has always been a problem for me is exercise. When I am in the way of doing it, it's ok, but I am a lazy person by nature, so I need a kick up the proverbial. Now my almost 3 yr old has got a place in nursery, 5 days a week, and it is a good 30 min brisk walk away, up and down hills. So I will be forced to have at least 1-1 1/2 hours walking per day, depending on whether DD will go in the buggy or not. If she goes in the buggy we can go quicker, but if not, I have to walk home and back to pick her up anyway. It's good for me, as I will have no choice. And there is no bus that goes between my house and nursery either.;)

(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

Hi Rosie - well, I haven't really formally "started" to do the Paul McKenna thing - I'm not on a particular day of the 90-day programme (though I suppose I did actually start doing it properly yesterday (after a bit of a chocolate-and-alcohol binge over the weekend), so you could say I am on Day 2). But I am doing it. Today I felt full after only about three-quarters of my modestly-sized lunch, and left the rest (the first time I've ever really left anything on my plate so a minor victory there :)) I've also been walking to work, despite rotten wet weather, and I've also been to my first gym class in about a year :o - Body Pump :) - and have been putting the CD on as I go to bed at night.

    Onwards and upwards...

Hi Rosie - yes, I feel the same, a couple of days of proper PMK-ing and I already look better! And I also notice the overeating straight away again as well. That's great that you have a routine that forces you to take some exercise. Sometimes that's the only way to stick to it.
  • Bargin Rzl, sounds as though you're doing brilliantly. How was Body Pump?

I'm around day 9 now, and had a really good couple of days, clothes looser already etc. Then yesterday succommed to the chocolate... but an occasional blip's allowed, so I'm happy.

Body Pump was good - I hadn't done it before, even back in the dim and distant past when I actually used to go to the gym semi-regularly. However, because it's a muscular/toning workout rather than cardio/aerobic, although it felt tough at the time, it didn't really make me feel like I had worked hard afterwards. I notice that on Saturday mornings there's a Body Pump class followed immediately by Body Attack, so am thinking about doing the double (so glad it's that way round, as after a Body Attack class I'm only fit to go home and collapse :D)

Also, didn't crave wine AT ALL last night after I got home, was in bed by midnight (a miracle by my standards) and this morning I've got biscuits sitting on my desk which a colleague brought back from holiday, and I haven't fancied them at all. No doubt I'll be peckish sometime this afternoon so am saving them for then!

Did fabulously well most of yesterday.

    Then...

Epic fail. Got bored, got drunk(ish), got a takeaway  And felt the effects of the takeaway and wine thanks to my digestion waking me up at 4am. And waking me up to the extent that not even another listen to the PMK CD could get me to drop off again. I ended up getting up and doing the housework.

Ah well. Walked into work again this morning (haven't caught the bus in the mornings at all this week!), am meeting my targets on my pedometer, and am just about to have my breakfast (cos I'm now hungry, having been up for 5 hours :o)

  • Just sounds like a blip, Bargain Rzl, and you've picked yourself up again straight away, so well done.

Well done on the loss jojo1969 - that's amazing .
Went to the gym again yesterday, feeling very proud of myself :D.
  • I am a self-confessed yo-yo dieter. My weight has fluctuated over the years between 10 and 20 stone and currently I am somewhere in between.

I have tried so many diets and failed. My usual pattern is to join a diet club after Christmas, lose about 2-3 stone in six months, stop going and put it all back on by Christmas again!

I have the new revised book with free CD and DVD. I have read about half the book so far but listen to the CD every night before bed. I also watched the series on Living TV which I found helpful.

I'm following the four golden rules and so far have beaten my cravings for crisps and chocolate. I am eating far less than I would normally but not denying myself any of my favourite foods and I don't feel hungry at all. In fact I would say that I'm actually opting for more healthy foods.

My problem is is that I jumped on the scales this morning (Day 12) and they didn't move in either direction. To say this has knocked my confidence in the programme is an understatement. I do feel better in myself but not to have lost any weight feels like a set back.

I must confess that I have not done much exercise since starting the programme. I try to get out at lunchtime at work and walk round the park and have also started walking up the stairs instead of using the lift. I want to do something else but find it hard to fit exercise into my daily routine because of my long commute to and from work. I'm going to try and go for a bike ride at the weekend!

Any suggestions as to why I haven't lost any weight yet?

    Thanks
