Anyway Good luck to you and Mrs Ging. Hope you are feeling better.

Thank you! Starting to feel better now... be fine by tomorrow :D.

Dinner tonight was southern fried chicken, chips and beans which I ate without any guilt :D. Small bit left on the plate, but not much as I was hungry!

  • Hi gingernut - I went to the Birmingham Paul McKenna event too, wasn't it fabulous? I enjoyed every minute and feel really motivated. I just feel such relief at not having to diet any more and feel better already by following his rules. By the way, I've been on his website but can't figure out how to get the free temporary membership to his diet club. How do you do it?

  • Hi, all, I've been reading this thread with interest and have been wondering whether to post to add my two pennyworth or whether I would be intruding, because I am one of those infuriating people who Paul Mckenna refers to as "naturally thin" although of course I am not naturally thin at all, I just don't overeat too much, and exercise just about enough.

    I am just over 5ft and fluctuate between 7st 9 and 7st 11.

I think 2 factors are involved with overeating:

One is simply the physical act of eating too much and exercising too little.

Easy to say but not quite so easy to deal with.

The other is emotional eating which is something I don't do and maybe the most important part of the problem.

In fact if I am upset or nervous I can't eat at all, so maybe there is a hormone or something involved?

I do enjoy eating but I don't obsess about it and if I fancy a chocolate, I can stop at one, so I can keep them in the fridge for when I do fancy one.

I do eat regular meals (including cereal for breakfast) and rarely pick between meals, (apart from an occasional packet of crisps in the evening) but I do have exactly what I fancy for meals although not in large portions.

My biggest failing is potatoes, I love, love, love potatoes and could not live without them, so I do understand how you must all feel when you are made to give up your favourite foods.

If I do overdo it on one day like eating out, then the next day I will have less to balance it out.

I hope this doesn't come over the wrong way, I just wanted to show that it is possible to be a reasonable weight without having to give up food. lol.

For exercise, I go for a walk with some friends for a couple of hours once a week and I have an XL Glider at home that I use fairly often while watching TV, so not exactly a gym babe!

My intention here is encouragement, so I say to you all keep up the good work but don't beat yourselves up about it if you have ups and downs.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one! I can't see where you enter the free code??? Going to have another go.

Question is, did you have wine with your lunch? :rotfl:

Thanks for that. You have pretty much described what PMK and most other books I've read say about being naturally thin. I actually think your post is very helpful - it's nice to hear from someone who is doing what we all want to do. You might not class yourself as naturally thin but I would because food isn't an issue for you whereas for me it's a crutch :o Eat when I am bored, tired, passes the time with the kids etc - I need to find other ways to just "be" IYSWIM rather than eating instead.

anyway thanks for sharing. I am trying to get my butt back into PMK (oh how many times have I said this LOL!).

Those of you who went to Brum to see PMK - where was it held (being nosy as I am close to Brum) and how much did it cost?
I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife :D Louise Brooks

  • Hi everyone. Thanks miss frugal - I'll have another go on the website.
Bitsy Beans - it was at the ICC and cost £99 but it was an all day event from 9.30 till 6pm and you get 5 free CD's and a success journal when you leave. Worth every penny. Such a great day and leaves you feeling super motivated.
Hi Ginger - no I didn't have any wine at lunch - I bought a pasty from Greggs and only ate half of it - for the first time EVER! Never thrown half a pasty away before! Incredible!
