    Well hello again :)
I am sooo desperate for it to be payday. I have around £8 in my purse, nothing in the bank, and I don't get paid till friday. Technically there is nothing I need to pay for, but it means I wont be able to make any PAD's now. Might start that from February, things should be 'normal' in Feb because of bf's wages.
I'm just really annoyed about it because i was really hoping for January to be the month I started to get stuff sorted but thanks to the agency and the MOT things have actually gone backwards. I really wanna have this stuff paid off by next Christmas and thats another month gone now.

On a brighter note, I do start tutoring soon so that will be some extra cash coming in. I'm determined to use EVERYTHING that I get paid from doing that to go towards my debts. Another moan coming up... I was originally supposed to start tutoring before xmas but because the local authority have taken so long to get things sorted I am only just about to. This means I might not have time to tutor another 2 pupils after the first two, effectively halving the amount I will get for it  . It's not too bad as I will still get around 500 quid, but still!

To try and perk myself up...
A LIST OF THE STUFF I HAVE DONE TO BE DFW
    • Listed books on Amazon - not expecting many to sell as they are all on at 1p with around 100 other books the same!
    • Looked into car boot sales to go to when the weather gets a bit warmer because I am not expecting much from Amazon.
    • Sorted out my tutoring work.
    • Started to make a PAD (will continue with this in February).
    • Done daily clicks, will wait untill I have done this a bit longer before putting up a total.
    • Carried on meal planning and kept grocery spend down to under £80. Might challenge myself to do it for less in Feb!
    • Signed the contract for exam marking in the summer (should net me around £700)
I think I'll put up a new SOA soon to include the amount that bf will be giving me and see how things are looking, I like working things out like that! My SOA looks good on paper!

Today I have already made some bread which smells beautiful and am probably going to have to do a bit of work on my assignment and do some schoolwork. Then I will be watching the new series of LOST later :T
    Bye!

Flipping heck look at that surplus? Looks like I will be able to start really going for it as soon as we start having bf's money coming in properly. Just makes you realise what a difference it makes with only one person working doesn't it. Although technically I should have had a surplus before then of around 300 - even with a spending diary I haven't figured out where that went.
I haven't included car tax and things, and I actually pay more towards the debts than i have put down above - I have just used the surplus as a guide to what I can afford where, I am going to look at putting some money aside for the big regular things, getting some insurance and so on. Now that I have my HSBC account it should be easier as I will use the A&L account that I have at the minute just for bills, and the HSBC for everyday spending.
Just about to go and make myself a nice complicated spreadsheet to keep track of all my accounts and things :T I love my sad little life!
    xx

  • I hope the end of the week comes soon for you. Horrible feeling only having a few pounds to play with! I thought January would be the start for me as well but it's just been a month of adjustment. I think February will be a good month, everything in order you can tackle the debt better.

You're doing very well, doing lots of things to get more money rolling in, keep it up!
    Keep the Faith!

Thanks Hallamlad, it is a bit like that I guess isn't it. January has been spent sorting everything out and deciding on a plan of action - February will be the month! I have to be careful that I don't end up saying that every time though...! I think it will help that I am writing this regularly as I will feel stupid if I make no progress and everybody else does.

I've been fiddling with my spreadsheet to try and see how things will work in February and the coming months, and it's actually looking ok. Because I've got my new HSBC account now I am going to get the bf to pay his 500 into that. Then I will just top up the A&L account (where my wages go and the bills come out) with the extra to pay of the overdraft I've gone into and bobs my uncle. That will take care of itself with my wages and the bills coming in and out (without the overdraft swalloing them my wages will more than cover it so I'll start to built up a bit of surplus by march which will be the 'emergency fund' and some extra for bills) and then I'll have another 500 a month for petrol, food, etc.
So it looks ok on paper!

Well here I am again, I should have been updating this really but I haven't been able to spend anything or pay anything so I didn't bother, slapped wrists I know!
Well it's payday today yay although its a bit of an anticlimax... firstly b/f is on emergency tax so he won't be able to pay as much as we thought, and he also missed a payment last month on one of his own debts so they have stopped the plan thing that he was on and demanded the whole lot. Only about £150 quid but its £150 that he won't be able to pay me with!
Secondly, although school are supposed to be paying towards my masters they have said they won't release the funds for it untill July - but £150 has to be paid by the first of feb. :( So that more than wipes out my council tax free month. Suppose it could be worse, I could have to pay them both.
So things are yet again going to be tight. Why is there always something? (and why is it always £150  )

Still, I made a PAD of £86 towards the A&L which is a start I suppose. Thought I'd get it to a round number! I'll adjust my sig in a minute. I'm going to try and skint this month out, I've got plenty of work I could be doing that should keep me busy and not spending anything!

Going to do my daily clicks now and probably browse the forums for a bit. I could do with a lazy night as things are crazy at work at the minute - we are expecting the dreaded ofsted very soon so they are piling on the paperwork!

Well today was most definitely not a NSD - I spent £40 at tesco online (although it was mostly stuff like pasta, meat etc that will last the month) and randomly the b/f bought a car? His Grandparents surprised him with cash for a car plus tax and insurance because they have given everyone in his family a gift this year except him, so WOW??? And he knew someone who was selling a little Ford Fiesta in really good nick so that was it. Lucky sod!

I've not made a PAD but I emptied my piggybank because I couldn't fit anything else into it, and counted it all up, in total I have £29 that I need to bank that will go into my Take That concert fund - the concert is in June so I have a little while to save up for it. Me and my mate are going to the concert on the Friday night then planning a night out in Manchester on the Saturday - will probably be messy! I will prob go on the internet banking later and transfer a pound and the odd pence to something as my PAD! :rotfl:

Did all my daily clicks this morning which is good because I don't think I'd have been bothered to do them tonight - just feel like dossing and worse, I am in the mood for shopping.... bad thing. Maybe I'll do some pretend shopping online instead!

That's great about the car. Bet he's really chuffed with that! It's great how much all that loose change adds upto. How long have you been saving that?

Well done on doing the clicks as well, get them out of the way as soon as you can!

Doesn't sound good about your Masters though, why won't they release the money? It's not like it's a huge sum and it would help you a lot.

omg I feel sick. Just had to book some rooms in a hotel for the next time I have to go on my course, and the transaction went through twice, didn't realise till I checked my email for the confirmation and there were two, and an invoice for £128 instead of 64. To make things worse i rang up and they said they are non refundable rooms because they are saver rooms, advised me to just cancel one set then contact customer services to try and get my money back. I've done that but could only email as the phoneline wasn't open. I don't know what I'm going to do. Things were tight as it was without having to cover 65 quid from somewhere, i feel physically sick what if I don't get the money back. Things are just getting worse I don't know why im !!!!ing bothering everytime i try to do something positive it just !!!!s up. every sodding time.
