I'm off to the ground at dawn tomorrow to take the covers off the pitch, hopefully the pitch won't be frozen and the game called off after all that effort!

Yeah I know what you mean, I've got a couple of DD right near payday so it can be awkward for me.

That's not a bad effort from a couple of bingo sites! Like a day's pay for a couple of hours of fun. Wouldn't mind getting into matched betting as well but it's far too complicated looking!

YES come on the foxes! lol good win for use yesterday, soooo many games called off? We have underpitch heating at the walkers though so that must help. Our pitch is in lovely condition considering the time of year, last year it was like a mud bath for the xmas fixtures! Just shows how far we've come I suppose, last season was dire...
Hallamlad, I noticed your game was called off but you have still played 24 matches, did you have an extra one somewhere along the line? Most have now played 23 or 24 if they played yesterday? Hope you had fun getting the covers off the pitch lol hope they supplied you with a bacon sarnie!

Yesterday was NOT a good day in many other respects - MOT cost me £40 and it bloody failed... I knew there was a problem with the door but was hoping they would miss that one :p and then a couple of things with the headlights - turns out one of the bulbs was gone in the headlight, I didn't even realise I thought the drivers side was supposed to be dimmer than the passenger so it didn't dazzle people! Maybe a bit of a blonde moment there... :o It's booked in for next saturday to get it all done and retested, gonna pick up a bulb myself in the week and change that so they can't charge me for it! So next saturday will be another big spending day.

I also went to the retail park with my mum before footy, went in Dunelm mill so good bargains to be had in there you know. Lots of Christmassy gifts (the type that won't go off, coffee sets, paintable money boxes etc) for just a couple of quid each. Lots of good offers on towels and bedding and stuff too but I managed to resist and I only bought 5 energy saving lightbulbs (the osram ones) for £1! Doubly moneysaving!:money:
Went to the outfit shop as well whilst we were there and spent about a fiver on some jewellery in the sale, for that I did get 3 necklaces and 2 pairs of earring so not bad - and they even accepted my student discount on sale stuff!

Today I have to go shopping - have done my meal plans for the week and have got quite a lot in so it's a short list. I have got to buy washing detergetnt though so that will bump the cost up a bt. In two minds whether to go to Lidl or Asda/Morrisons - can't be bothered to drive as far as tesco! I do like lidl but I end up spending a fortune in there because of all the nice stuff they have!

This is getting long so will stop there - I have got some school work to do later so no doubt I will be on here later wasting time and putting off actually working!

Grrr 12 points clear of us now! Not giving up just yet now we've signed Windass! :j

Yeah we had a game in the league last saturday while everyone else played in the FA Cup, got another game tomorrow night so fingers crossed for that!

It was hard, very cold work getting the covers off but I got a ticket for the game so I'm happy with that.

Sorry to hear about the MOT, hope it doesn't cost you much more. Loving that you thought one light is supposed to be dimmer than the other :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yeah Windass was a good player in his day...;) You'll be alright, never know might be a trip to wembley at the end of the season!
Lol at the headlights thing, YES I know I am stupid sometimes! :o

Managed to only spend £13 at shopping which will easily last the week so I'm hoping that apart from petrol and swimming which I will get tomorrow I won't need to spend anything else this week.

I seriously need to get myself sorted this week on both fronts, I've been pigging out and not exercising, and I alway want to start trying to make money rather than just saving it.
    So a little list...

DFW and FFW(fat free wannabe lol) Stuff To Do This Week
I should be doing some tutoring which still hasn't been sorted so will have to chase that up this week. I've signed up to attend some training which will pay about 80 quid in all before tax, hopefully paid in the February pay.

Keep doing Quidco and TCB clicks and keep an eye on things tracking.

Get my !!!! down to swimming tomorrow, then to the gym on tuesday and thursday at least. And do some sit ups on the other days!

Look out some things to sell on Amazon and/or Ebay and find out how to sell them!

Eat No Chocolate or Crisps or other rubbish.

Hopefully it will make a difference. I'm getting a bit demoralised at the minute, I think it's that middle of the month feeling, and also because I know that all my hard work at reducing my overdraft so much (it was at -200, for this month it was looking at being about -50 by the end of the month) will probably be wiped out by the car repairs. I know it's essential and everything, but still. Ah well I'm sure I'll perk up soon, don't usually stay down for long!

    xx

  • I don't think it's a good time of year for anyone really, something about it being the most depressing day of the year. It shouldn't get any worse than this or that's the thinking anyways! It is hard mid-month when you've done everything you can to bring your debt down and you've got to wait to progress.

The car repairs might make a dent in your hard work but they won't be there next month.

Just keep it up, it'll soon be month end and everything will be looking rosier! x

Cheers Hallamlad, you're right there. The weather and general january feeling doesn't help either does it!

Well I have sorted a few of the things I was planning to, emailed the lady about the tutoring and have managed to arrange a meeting tomorrow (which I get paid for YAY). So should hopefully start that properly in a week or so.

I have done my clicks and also bookmarked Eagerlearners thread. Apparently the full round of clicks can net over £3 a day so being as I'm always faffing about online anyway I might as well spend a bit of time on it and make some cash!

So two good things there on the making money front!

I went swimming, but haven't been to the gym tonight (naughty :o ) however I am just about to do some sit ups and will definitely go tomorrow I promise!

I haven't looked at the selling thing yet - will prob wait till the weekend now for that as I have a busy week.

I did eat a choccy biscuit today but I DON'T CARE cuz it was lovely. An I always swore I'd never be one of those tedious women who counts every single sodding calorie. At least I didn't eat the whole packet lol.

rRght off to do my sit ups... maybe if I get b/f to hold a box of roses in front of me it will give me more motivation lol

  • How do I find those things to click? I'm guessing it's for Quidco? £3 a day isn't bad at all so long as it dosn't take too long.

Well done on the swimming, nowt wrong with that! Your bf should have teased you with them holding them just out of reach :p

The clicks thread is eager learners thread here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=609037 however I think it does take a while to do all the clicks. There are loads of different site similar to quidco that give you a couple of pence for doing searches on website. I'm going to give it a go for a few weeks but if it's too time consuming I'll probably end up stopping. I suppose it's not too bad if you say it's £3 for half hour, works out at £6 an hour so just like working for it really.

Haha yeah thats a good idea lol, been to the gym today and did a good hour and a half - bit of a killer as I haven't been since before xmas! So bad when you get out of a routine, you just don't wanna get back into it! Hopefully that will be a kick start though. Got to go again tomorrow!

Had a good day moneywise, bought some milk for work this morning which cost 86p but found a quid on the floor outside Co-op:T so that covered my expenses lol

  • Think I'll give that a go as well then, it'll soon add up after a few months. Hour and a half after not going for a while is good going! I was knackered after half an hour when I went back!

Not bad going either finding more than you spent! :T

Well I've just tried the daily clicks routine - not the whole lot but I did 8 different sites  and it took about an hour. Hopefully it will get faster cuz it is a bit tedious! Still if the figures are anything to go by it's worth doing, I will try to stick at it!

BUT naughty me didn't go to the gym so as a punishment I made myself do 400 sit ups instead. I MUST go tomorrow tho... actually I don't mind going fridays as it doesn't get so busy, might do a bit in the gym then go swimming.

Bit annoyed today too as bf should get his last weeks pay + holidays owed from the agency tomorrow of which he should be giving me around £150. Only problem is, they haven't put his wages through? Apparently the woman in the office 'forgot' to put it through on time so now he won't get it till next friday  . Really bugs me that they can get away with that? Some people could be relying on that money, fair enough we can manage just about, he will have to borrow £20 of me to buy his bus ticket next week but thats about it. But what if you were a single parent or something with no other income, and they just say 'oh sorry I forgot to do my job today you are going to have to go with out pay for a week'. Crazy. Mind you his work are pretty p'd off about it, (his new job is a permanent position at the same place) because they have already paid the agency the money for the work he did so there should be no excuse.

DFW-wise, today was a nsd - maybe I should count these up or something, people put them in their sig don't they maybe I should do that too, knowing me I'd forget to update it!
