I just need my cooker now.. speedy cheque vibes please I am starting to fall apart without a decent usable cooker!

If I were you I'd be ringing today and demanding a CHAPS transfer into your account today (which can be organised provided it is before approx 2pm) at their expense as they are now taking the P and dragging their heels.

Well they pay it up to the DAY the new cooker arrives and we are now looking at the 21st as they only deliver on a wednesday in this area and I've not yet got the cheque.. if it came today it wouldn't clear in time for delivery next week so we are going to be at least another 2 weeks so that will be 37 days without a cooker..(£2590).. good job I am resourceful!
