 Internet and TV went off for nearly 2 hours again tonight
Mind you, I did make some soup and a beef / mushroom / leek concoction (enough for 2 meals) so that's all now in the freezer
Liberty - :T on stopping smoking

kassey - that's awful - poor DS! Hope you can treat him to something
lil_me - huge hugs - I often have 'what ifs' thinking situations so I know what it can be like. I'm also a daddy's girl too, and sometimes spend too much time worrying about how old he is ............
Triker - welcome back!
Right, all this talk about ice cream has got me heading for the freezer ..........."There's only one way of life and that's your own" - Levellers

Hello lovely flying peeps!!
I had a great start today and then got hit by a really nasty headache this afternoon - so I had a lovely long bath in my newly cleaned bathroom and then slept nearly all afternoon, my OH has finally come home ay 8pm after nearly a week away working and he is very very most impressed by our lovely tidy house and said he thinks the new layout in the kitchen works much better (he spends as much time as I do cooking so it has to be right for both of us) ...although my newly tidied dining table seems to already have his cigs and wallet on it but I will convince him eventually that thy don't live there anymore...
Thank you all for you thank yous and encouragement in my first week - I'm definately going to stay around and keep flying!!
ooo haven't told OH that we're 'doing' the spare room tomoro - maybe I'll save that news for when we've opened the second bottle of vino calapso...

Hiya
Quick question for anyone with a caravan and you can PM your reply if you'd rather or you can tell me not to be nosy!! We're looking at storage places and I was wondering what sort of cost i'd have to pay? Any ideas at all? xx0 -
Evening everyone.
Not sure if I'll ever catch up with this week's thread. Looks like you've spent all week chatting while I've been at work! It's freezing here today! I seem to have just kept notching the heating up bit by bit, as we're all well wrapped, doors closed, throws over laps etc etc.
Welcome to all newbies  and (((((hugs))))) to anyone who needs or wants one.
We (the whole family - yes, Boddy (I think) DH is home this weekend) went in to town today for a wander. I bought DD a new "puffer" style jacket from Officers Club for £15 (half price), black with zip out sleeves and a hood. She also went and changed her phone contract so is finally free from T-Mobile. I've arranged my new phone direct from Orange as it was a better deal than the Carphone Warehouse. I had a £30 voucher for Marks & Spencers, but couldn't find anything in clothing that I particulalry liked, so I got a Chinese for all of us as a treat, and bought myself a beautiful orchid plant. I ended up leaving the grocery shopping as we were all tired and there was nothing we desperately needed.
Since coming home:
Stripped our bed -DH remade it
All washing now up to date
Tumble dryer still going
Packed up all the Christmas decorations (this is the 1st chance I've had)
DS and DH put boxes in attic
All upstairs carpets vacuumed
ZLS - what a fright for you. I hope DD is fully recovered. How are the stitches, by the way?
Believe me...in a dodgy enough public toilet, any
As the old TV advert used to say "You get a lot less bover wiv a Hover!" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Sainsbugs Car wash in Cwmbran was closed for several days coz it was frozen (I know how it feels :rotfl:) so I ended up going to one of those weird places with a conveyor belt thingy that pulls the car through, but also got it valeted as it was going for its MOT/service yesterday. That ended up costing me £362 squid! One of the coil springs had snapped, a bracket on the nearside headlight had broken off and the rear part of the exhaust had a bracket that needed welding. Oh, I also asked them to check why one of the rear door locks wasn't working with central locking, so they did that as well, and it was a wire that had snapped, but of course that meant the door panel had to come off to find the fault. Anyway, at least it's all done and roadworthy. DH is going to get rid of his car when the MOT is due, as he thinks it will need too much done, and it's an old P reg Ford Escort that was given to him. It will mean that I need to get up very early some days to take him to work (in the summer he will use his bike) but going to one car will help cut the bills a bit this year.
Right. Off to catch up some more! Phew!DMP mutual support thread No: 433 - Mortgage - £54,556, Credit cards - £4012, Unsecured loan - £3,376, Other - £419

Hubbie couldn't get ours to work when it arrived (we have wireless system) so I rang them and they were great and had it working in minutes.toottifrootti wrote: »dusty what do you mean by an ebay challenge - I will join you I think!
I'm not sure what I mean but I need somebody encouraging me to get listing - maybe we could use turbo lister and aim to add 3 items a day and upload later in the week - what do you think?dusty, serena - I have an unexpected reward for having no time to cut things back before winter - the garden is stunning in the frost. I think I will leave it till early spring in future years too.
Mine is the same Hex but I tend to leave lots of stuff as seeds for the birds and to protect the lower parts of the plant too.
Triker welcome home, I don't like flying either and avoid it wherever possible, hope hubbies tooth problem has resolved itself.
I'm really tired after being woken before 5 by hubbie before he went to the airport;) Just need to tidy up from dinner and I'm heading up to bed.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww - spotty potty pup is desperate to curl up to our 12 year old grumpy dog who doesn't want to know. She also wants to make friends with the cat who tends to live upstairs. Well, the cat has just jumped into spotty's basket and curled up next to her. The problem is, the cat has a manky ear that stinks to high heaven. Spotty is desperately trying not to move incase the cat moves but you can see that she wants to investigate the source of the smell! It's soooooooooooo funny! xx
ETA: And the flying aspect of this post is...the dog and it's bed will need to be washed tomorrow to remove manky cat ear yuck from them! Poor pud! xx0
