That is absolutely ridiculous, they can't impose charges that accrued as the result of fraudulent activity on his account. I would advise him to get on the phone to the complaints, sorry customer concerns department immediately and get someone to sort this out NOW. If they know his card has been cloned then they have to put him back to the position he was in he not had his card cloned. Do not let them fob you off with 'you pay the charges and you will get reimbursed later' They should also offer to write to other companies that have had DD's returned to explain the situation so that you do not have to stand to their charges either.

Omg you've just made me nearly wet myself. Just as I read your post my son came in and asked if I wanted to play lightsabers on the wii with him. I've got tears streaming down my face and he's looking at me as if i've lost the plot!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: xx0 -
Pigpen - good on you and just what I would have done. Especially as they took (stole!) your alcohol. Honestly...I don't know what some people teach their kids is acceptable behaviour nowadays....
I have to admit that I was allowed a drink before I was 18. But it would be a small wine topped up with lemonade under my parents supervision! Just enough that it wasn't quite so exciting to go completely mental on it when I got to 18!!
My DD is 17 and is not really a drinker, but over the last 18 months she has been occasionally allowed a Smirnoff Ice when getting ready to go out with her friends. She finds alcopops taste too sickly to have more than the odd one and drinks water when out.She has a good set of friends who on the whole are remarkably sensible (far far more sensible than I ever was at her age!:o) and she has never been drunk to my knowledge.
I have taken the tack that I have done the ground work in instilling values and I have to back off a bit and let her prove to me and herself that these values have sunk in, whilst still being under my 'supervision'. In 9 months she will be off to uni anyway, so will be doing her own thing then.
But I understand about not wanting under age kids drinking alcohol especially without parents knowledge. It really is a minefield, this parenting thing! Do you ever really know if you have got it right???0 -

Rubbish, they are trying to side step the issue. Provided you have ensured the card was stored securely ie in a wallet and not left lying around and the PIN number was not with the card or written down anywhere, and that no one else knew the PIN then you have done all you can to reasonably protect yourselves. I would be tempted to consider swapping banks if this is how they have rewarded your loyalty.Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
