orkney - wasn't trying to cause offence or be judgemental, I probably didn't phrase myself well. I'm a Christian too and worked in church ministry for quite a few years until last year. I think I meant that sometimes very evangelical churches can cause people to be closed off from the world- often by choice. But sorry, I shouldn't have commented on
I know what you are saying rach :), its so easy to comment on stuff, especially on here. As a Christian I am always asking myself if I am being too judgemental of others (I know I am sometimes!!) so maybe I just had that head on when I read the posts iyswim. I have experienced Churches I felt to be inspiring, worrying and indifferent to so I realise that there can be different 'protocols'! What sort of ministry were you in ?

  • Pigpen - good on you and just what I would have done. Especially as they took (stole!) your alcohol. Honestly...I don't know what some people teach their kids is acceptable behaviour nowadays....

I have to admit that I was allowed a drink before I was 18. But it would be a small wine topped up with lemonade under my parents supervision! Just enough that it wasn't quite so exciting to go completely mental on it when I got to 18!!

DS1 is 17 and has the occasional drink which is fine so long as he doesn't kick off when he gets home.. but DD1 is only 14 and besides that... it was mine!! lol.. She has just taken the vacuum upstairs to her pit.. lol

My eyeshrubs need mowing.. they are wild.. does that count as 'flying' or it is decluttering??
