Won't be around much this week.
Our cable modem is gradually giving up, its 8 years old, we've been reluctant to change it before now as a) it worked and b) we didnt want to risk breaking our internet by changing anything.

Anyway its getting ridiculous now, about 10 attempts and 10 minutes to load a page off any site, so hubs phoned Virgin this morning and they are sending a new cable modem. Hubby left for the US for a week 10 minutes after that phonecall.
    AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I am very computer literate, I think. I've worked in IT for 16 years so I should have a clue, but I have managed to avoid networky and internety stuff, that is his domain (his business is software dvelopment, and his hobby too, he is a genius when it comes to all things computer). So now I am going to have to hook up the stupid new thing when it arrives. They promise it will just be case of plugging it in but I am a bit dubious!

Oh well, if it works I'll feel great :D

I probably wont even try and come on here before the new thing is online, its just so frustrating and even more time wasting than normal at the minute.
so fingers crossed and all that.

    Watch this space.......

Try diluted white vinegar and a microfibre cloth if you have them;)

I loved the vinegar trick. Got a bit carried away wondering if any of the other slightly dull silvery things in my kitchen or bathroom would glisten if tried...smells a little like a chippy now!!! But was all worth it...both agents loved the bathroom...and both valued flat above what we paid for it a few years ago. Phew - and fingers crossed.

Look forward to flying with you all next week!

Glad we could assist you crazy and congratulations on the valuation. Fingers crossed you get a quick sale.

Flying has come to a grinding halt.....oh how very rare I hear you all say :p But I'm pleased that I have actually achieved something rather than nothing. Will carry on a bit more tomorrow.

orkney - wasn't trying to cause offence or be judgemental, I probably didn't phrase myself well. I'm a Christian too and worked in church ministry for quite a few years until last year. I think I meant that sometimes very evangelical churches can cause people to be closed off from the world- often by choice. But sorry, I shouldn't have commented on them as I don't know the situation.

jill - i did my own cable, and later wireless, and it was litereally plug and play. fingers crossed for you!

Had a surge of energy post lunch (soup was yummy) and not only washed up but did quite a bit off my list too. will post an update then i'm going to watch PS I love you which I recorded last night.
