And if you DID let them watch it their mum would be plotting revenge...just like me :rotfl: - quite right JennyBee - your house - your rules. In your circumstances I wouldn't even risk it...

:rotfl: Do you know my OH's ex?! Because that is so true! However she's been a little more civil since the older one told me about a song that the ex had taught them called "Jenny likes pies". Older SD was 7 at the time and apparently just said "no she doesn't, cos she doesn't like pastry!" The ex had the decency to go red at that.

I also get to reel out the standard lines of:

"No you can't play your Nintendo DS at the breakfast table"
"In fact, it's sunny outside so you can't play it at all"
"No TV before bedtime - if you're not tired, read a book for half an hour"

Apparently they really kick off at home with things like that but they'll take it from me! Boundaries are the way forward!

    See you later!

Yay! I admit that we have a PS2 but bought it 2nd hand from a friend for £30. And there is no way those kids are getting on it. In fact I don't think they even know we have it!

I reckon they're getting the idea though because last time they were here they asked to see a video and chose....Peter Pan Return to Neverland! Something's got to be working :)

Bed mended (again) - floor vacuumed (again) under the bed ***grins***
Been to rotate mattress covers in TD - because, of course, they balled up rubber side out so weren't drying. Can't make bed until they are dry and back on BUT I have ironed DSs duvet cover so that's ready to go on,
re my *possible* OCD - is keeping CDs in alphabetical order by artist obsessive? I have a 'various' section for compilations.
I just wish I had the energy to vacuum uder MY bed - but if I - then if I - ***runs upstairs has as had thought***

Haven't done any more flying since earlier except another load of washing...got the shopping which came to £45 - nearly all veg and essentials except for a few tins, a couple of bits of trout and a poubnd of mince (i do buy the expensive super super lean stuff though). I had a £3 voucher and then used £12.50 in nectar points, i know not the best way to use them but suited me.

I have a phone conference at 3.30 and so will catch up on the thread then. ;) might just go and make a cuppa before it starts as it's freezing here!

  • lol, i think you're probably right! I'm so impatient and want it now, otherwise i would have had to wait til next week when i get paid again to order it. Hubbys wages are all to pot just now so cant rely on them. He spoke to his bank and they said someone overseas had cloned his card or something and he went overdrawn and now he has to pay the bank charges for going overdrawn even though its not his fault:mad: Its going to cost him nearly £200 in fees for bounced DD's and OD fees.

That's awful G&B - that's one of the reasons I was told never use your debit card online - you can't claim back anything they take unless you have a really good bank (:rotfl: ). I was told by someone (?) who works in a bank to only ever use a credit card online, as you are covered for this type of thing then. Sorry, information no good to you now though, but for future reference, if you can avoid using them, do.

Can they not even waiver the charges? surely they can see what's happened and could refund those for him, even if they can't refund the monies used? That's just mean.
