right I really need to go to bed now. I did get my list done (which was just to undo Christmas and DH even stashed it in the loft for me).
The rest of the evening was spent getting stressed at DS (5) who mucked about for 2 hours (730 to 930) in and out of bed because he is so anxious about school tomorrow. Its not a one off, he is usually annoyingly in and out for a good half hour each night, but tonight it got ridiculous then he woke the baby. DH went up gave him a talking to and ended up smacking him which he never ever does. So now he feels guilty, we are narking at each other and we've had a huge row
So now we will all feel carp tomorrow and DS will feel tired as well as anxious tomorrow morning. Groan.

LOL bless
Ok, tea done (DH made it tonight......I had to go with ex to put my beloved puss to sleep. I left him with him when we split, as I was moving near a very busy road. He had feline aids, leukaemia and quite probably a brain tumour. It was heartbreaking)
(((((((Hugs)))))) It was a brave thing to do, and he was obviously happy to be with you at the end.
I found this when I was looking for poems for my grandad's funeral. Although its not the same situation, I think it's a nice insight into cats and their personalities:
My Old Cat by Hal Summers
My old cat is dead,
Who would butt me with his head.
He had the sleekest fur.
He had the blackest purr.
Always gentle with us
Was this black puss,
But when I found him today
Stiff and cold where he lay
His look was a lion's,
Full of rage, defiance:
Oh, he would not pretend
That what came was a friend
But met it in pure hate.
Well died, my old cat.0 -

I did think about it but I'd feel like such an idiot. Vanity sucks eh. Might take my flip flops though so its not so sore walking around the edge on the bumpy tiles. Thanks
the socks may look silly but if you don't look after your feet they'll be a lot more embarrasing in the future
my best friend nearly ruined her wedding day by letting her feet get in such a state that she got an infection and limped around for days, only a lot of painkillers got her through the big day - but the sun and relaxation of the honeymoon made them a lot better lol!
Really must go wash up now...
ETA - JillD - Just read your post - ((HUGS)) hope everyone's happier in the morning, bloody men eh? lolJune Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Hiya
Can I join the weightloss please Jill. I've slept most of today which feels fab. I'm still shattered now so ready for bed again. My friend has just been round with a huge bunch of gorgeous flowers and a hug and a chat. We only see each other a few times a year but it's one of those really valuable friendships. I've had a fab couple of hours.
Hopefully I join in a bit more tomorrow.
Hugs to all who need them
Hugs to the new people on the thread
Hugs to everyone else xxxxxx0 -
Evening all,
Finally caught up on all of the pages I've missed since last night (lots).
Big hugs to Hawthorn - I cried when I read your post, and you have all my sympathy. Unfortunately my first cat which I grew up with also had to be put to sleep as we suspected he had a brain tumour too.
Toots I'm glad things went ok at the hospital.
Happy Birthday to greenbee.
Well done to all the new flyers. Unfortunately I've not done any flying today as went round to our old neighbours to say hello before going to dinner at MIL's and have only just got on the PC to catch up as OH was hogging it. Will fly tomorrow morning though as I'm only working in the afternoon as the teacher I'm covering still would normally have PPA time on a Wednesday morning.
I have a stinking headache, so I think I'm going to head for bed now, as the heating went off an hour ago, and it's getting cold again.
Night all,

and getting metal ores out of land is VERY harmful to the environment - especially extraction of bauxite (aluminium ore) which is hosed out, leaving massive scars and barren land on which nothing will grow because there is no topsoil. Recycling aluminium is, IMHO doubly green because of this...
***climbs down off soapbox***
I wasn't brave enough to get my green soapbox out here... but while we're on the subject... don't buy stuff you don't need... and when you declutter, try to get it reused or recycled rather than binning it... and if you DO need new stuff, think about the green/ethical implications of what you're buying (trust me, it puts you off... being ethical has saved me a fortune, there is SO much I can't buy anymore!)0 -
