Well done on that; our freezer etc is being depleted thanks to snow when we would have normally purchased the weekly groceries etc - no point risking things when not required. However, the average spend is still high and I think it's because more often OH has been shopping in Tesco and Sainsbury's rather than Morrisons.... must "discuss" this later

I usually shop at morrison. so whenever i have to pop in to another supermarket e.g. tesco or somerfield, i felf like i have been robbed.
i find sanisbury reasonable with prices. to be fair, most supermarkets have some good deals if you can find them.

Stuart...I wouldn't you might find yourself doing the weekly shop alone!!;)

To be honest I never drive out of my way to get to a supermarket, so depending on where I work sometimes I shop in Morrisons sometimes Asda (loves Asda:j ) but today will be Tesco as thats where mum wants to go shopping as she needs clothes for my dad. Somerfield is my local supermarket..also know as SUFFERFIELD in our house...might as well put a gun to your head and empty your purse..robbers!!

I may have to add some socks to the shop as I seem to be down to 3 pairs and 7 odds:eek: Note to oneself whilst buying new socks make sure they are plain black NOT ones with coloured toes and heals...I have been known to go to work with one yellow toed and one pink toed sock:D

Went to work last night so thats some extra £££ for the pot.....well ££ anyway:rotfl:

Somewhat unlikely; OH does the shop on one of her days "off" (she works part-time) rather than impact on our weekend. Also, she has evidence that when I'm there the costs are much higher :o

OH cycles or walks to work, so the main shopping is specific for that. However, we don't go to Lidl or Aldi as they are much further away.

According to our 11yr old DD, this is all the fashion now, i.e. deliberately wear odd sock! Just can't think it will work with me, especially as I wear a suit to work :rotfl:

Saved the best to last didn't you? Very useful to be able to increase income any time of the year.
  • Yeh i'm trendy, Stuarts 11 year old says so...so I must be!! Just as well I forgot to add the socks to the shopping trolley then!!:rotfl:

Down to serious business....Tesco shop was....gulp....closes eyes....blushes:o feels a bit sick....... £55.51:eek: ouch. My only saving grace is there was a few bottles of cider in there as a little thank you for my colleague who gave me his washing machine (did I tell you it was a BOSCH..hubby was v. impressed:D )

Still shopping for two around the £50 mark per week is too much..isn't it???? No wine in there either:mad:

I am impressed with myself though, managed to look around Dunelm (Mums fault!) and didn't spend a penny..talking of spending pennies it cost me 30p for a wee in Paddington station on the weekend:eek:

It's fortuitous I read your thread, otherwise might have been prompted to ask where you'd left them? :D

Your shopping bill looks fine to me if it covers everything household and food / drink
    wise.

Just watched the first episode of the new series of Mad Men... may explain my sense of humour!

LOL.....OMG.....to justify it they were very sensible knickers, for this cold weather:eek:

I'm glad the shopping bill looks ok, when I did my original budget I had no idea how much we spent, I guessed at £50 and am determined to stick to this...although I'm not sure what will happen when my garage stash of wine runs out:eek: Lets hope Tesco does their offer for clubcard vouchers worth double if you order wine, that way I can justify it:rolleyes: Not really spending, just getting rid of Tesco vouchers:rotfl:
