But would the flowers die being kept in a case all day?
They might not die but would perhaps look past best. How about something that wouldn't get damaged while being packed. Something that springs to mind is a photo album or picture frame with pictures of you as a couple - also quite inexpensive so you shouldnt be told off for buying when agreed not to - just an idea

    I need some help ladies!

Me and my gf are going to London for a long weekend and we said we wouldn't buy each other presents but I still want to do something special.

The problem is she is coming from Italy and I'm coming from up north and we will be meeting and going to the hotel together on the Friday. I was thinking of buying some flowers, cards etc and keeping them in my case then putting them out during the night and when she wakes on Saturday 'thhhhaaaadarrrrr!'. But would the flowers die being kept in a case all day?

Personally I would say they would die ... you could always give them to the hotel when you arrive and ask for them to put them in the room for you? or ask if they could be left at reception then you pick them up later on or something?

a bottle of champagne, some rose petals to sprinkle around the room and some fancy chocs would save much better in your case :)

Neither is home ... we don't always have millions of pounds which we can afford to spend willy nilly, We will be spending it at home, the children will also be with us we can't always have everything in life we want and if OH was to book a £9 room for us I would love it!

    Hey All!

Haven't been about here much recently but just popped in here to look for ideas. This will be mine and OH's 3rd Valentines together. The first one we spent the night in a hotel, the second one he away with the Army. Doubt we will do to much as both of us are working that day and the one after.
If anyone is looking for a gift I know firebox do some quirky love gifts.

Also talking about the paper stars. I was brought a little kit by my mum a couple of years ago with paper strips and instructions on how to make these. They look really cute and so I though I would share a piccie with you.

  • For those of you doing hampers on a budget - or even breakfast in bed - I thought these looked quite cute:
    heart teabags

And if you were going to buy chololate anyway, you can make your own chocolate wrapper
