  • I'm going to make a bunch of origami stars, kinda like confetti, - and possibly some origami hearts to go inside my little hamper for OH, and to scatter on the table for our meal. here's the link for the stars let me know if anyone manages to do them :) i haven't made any as of yet. http://www.viewdo.com/now_viewing.php?id=118

I'd love to be whisked away to a travel lodge we never get anywhere these days we are always stuck at home with no cash :( but we make do with what we got.

I got some really nice heart lights that i bought from tescos a few years ago when i first met OH but ended up living with my mum and dad so didn't get to use them, but will set them up around our bed this year with some nice rose petals, and poems laid out. Was thinking of using all the candle holders we got for our wedding and lighting them in a trail with little clues to his hamper. Not sure yet we'll see :)

    anymore ideas would be great!

Ive made the stars before they are quite easy to do!
  • hi Grace

sorry can't you give him an ultimatium, and tell him that you are not settling for second best, that if he really does still feel for you, then he would end it with the other gf..........?

  • hi peeps

I think it has been mentioned about pound land doing gifts for valentines day, picked up a few bits today..

    balloons, I love you
love you cracker - with gift inside
    rose petals

    they also had:

love game - think it was one of those you spin the wheel, also cam with a shot glass

    edible underwear

    love furry dice

    teddies

    valenitines day cards

and gift wrapping set, which contained shredded tissue paper, wrapping paper and something else, can't think now

i also bought last year from aldi a heart shapped box, with a red heart on the front, it is a set of 3, so thought I may put all the things that I love about OH, in one of the boxes, not sure yet what to do with the other two......

Although end up sometimes spending loads on Valentines Day, which also happens to be my birthday, but OH doesn't believe in it, says that we don't need a special day to tell one another we love them..... my excuse to make a fuss of him, although I do it all the time anyway...

not bad going for 11 years...

  • just realised valentines is a sat this year so hopefully we will go out for a meal. we usually stay in with a bottle of wine and i get love hearts and heart shaped chocs etc i set everything up on the table red table cloth confetti candles and put bottle of wine wine glasses and treats in the middle. doesnt cost very much but OH always apreciates the effort iv gone to. he usually gets me flowers and we buy each other a present but as money is tight this year we might not bother with the presents.

Hi just an idea for the 3 boxes, you could use all 3 in one go ... plus if it is for your OH then you get the boxes back afterwards ;) very MSE ... but if they are all smaller than each other you could stack them up, one on top of the other :) these generally make lovely gifts. I will have to look in our local aldi for boxes like that as if I can find some I may swap my ideas over and do simmilar.

    I need some help ladies!

Me and my gf are going to London for a long weekend and we said we wouldn't buy each other presents but I still want to do something special.

The problem is she is coming from Italy and I'm coming from up north and we will be meeting and going to the hotel together on the Friday. I was thinking of buying some flowers, cards etc and keeping them in my case then putting them out during the night and when she wakes on Saturday 'thhhhaaaadarrrrr!'. But would the flowers die being kept in a case all day?
