  • Rummy Instead of buying the ticket for him, could you not surprise him with a ticket for yourself and go with him as support?.

bunbun2: Your pictures look beautiful. I love the chocolate hearts. THey look yummy! Whats inside them? :)

Trollydolly: That's a really thoughtful idea except I've not met his parents yet and his Dad would be going, I'd feel really awkward to meet his Dad like that plus I have exams coming up. His had a pretty bad year, in December we found out his grandfather has cancer, on his birthday 2 weeks ago (which I still haven't celebrated with him!) his Mum had an operation for a gall stone and now his gran's having an op on Monday and each time I've made a plan with him then these news comes through and we end up doing nothing. :(:( I'm trying to support him but not sure what else to do. :(

Now all in the bin. I will be spending Valentine's day alone, because surprise surprise again the SOB let me down.

I hope everyone else has a lovely time, I'm honestly jealous that you all have good decent OH's. Maybe one day I'll be as lucky.

Oh no I'm sorry to hear that - what a bummer!! don't know what to say poor thing!!

Hi all - mean't to post these on friday but my nana (my mum's mum) passed away on friday so things didn't quite go to plan. She was nearly 95yrs old so a good age but its still a bit of a shock when it happens!! Anyway, we did have a lovely valentines weekend although it obviously was a bit overshadowed plus the fact that my SIL phoned up at about midday on Valentine's Day to say she was flying to Istanbul 1st thing sunday morning with her two boys (4 & 5yrs old) and could the 3 of them drive up and stay overnight? (we live near the airport!!) needless to say my OH was a bit thrown and said yes!! He then saw my face & tried to backtrack a bit by saying 'well we will be in but are planning a meal & stuff as its valentines' - she didn't get the hint so the best he could do was ask her to come later - she wanted to arrive between 7-8pm!! In the end they arrived about 9pm! So we still had our lovely meal but it was a bit rushed and then we didn't have our romantic evening on the sofa watching movies of my choice & 'stuff' iykwim!!! LOL! Anyway it was still lovely & OH is still thrilled with all the effort I went to!! I got some lovely bits from him too - he's working in London at the moment so he popped to Selfridges and got me a few lovely things! In the end I did get the 'Dine in' from M&S and it was deeelicious!! Good value I thought too - £20 for Starter, Main, Side dish, Dessert, bottle of cava & single rose.

Anyway here are some photos of end results...

I also did a 'menu' card for on the table - will post when I get a chance!!
