    HI,

well was turned down by barclays for a basic account, so back to the drawing board.

the asda cc got in touch today following my letter and they will accept £5 a month for now, so thats some good news. :D

Alot of times when people try to open a basic account, it seems that the sales staff try to find the "best product" for you. Can you see if they did a credit check on you? If you weren't applying for credit then i'm pretty sure they have not looked for just a basic account.

There will probably be a few suggestions on the bankruptcy board for basic accounts that you can open, but if they did do a credit check without your permission, give them hell.

I agree there was no credit check done for ExOH we did it there and then. We explained that he would be turned down for any other account due having bad credit score.
The basic cashcard account is for people with bad credit and bankruptcy against them.
Try ringing them or if you can go back in and see someone else.

Hi i cant help re your debt situation but if your mum is needing care from you I think you should ask for help. I am no expert but your mum must be somewhat frail if she broke her hip. Find the benefits advice line number and give them a call. If they say no you have lost nothing. The fact that your sister had to 'mumsit' for you to go out indicates that she is unable to help herself. I think it would be worthwhile for your mum to get a benefits checkup - is she entitled to pension credit? I read recently that there is millions in unclaimed benefits so you never know. GOOD LUCK!

    Hiya,

i have applied for attendance allowance for her, that was all DWP said she was entitled too, she isnt that frail, but she does have osteoporosis, and did have quite a nasty fall, that side was weak also. it was just a pure accident.

she has had her hip replaced just over 2 weeks ago, so isn't fully back on her feet yet, which is why she needs help at the mo, a lot of its down to confidence also as she is still on crutches, hopefully she will be a lot better in a few weeks. Thank you very much for your advice though:A

    hello,

seems halifax are wanting to play silly monkeys, they claim to have not received my letter asking for reduced payments in short term, and have not even cashed the postal order to my account.

its my own fault admittedly as the letter that went to them was sent normal post. so lesson learned, its a shame though as most of the other cc's received theirs that were sent the same way! so will send another letter again, recorded del this time!
