Morrisons do their own brand pink salmon in the tall tins but i`m not sure about the weight.
I mix it with mayo and lots of black pepper to make a lovely sandwich spread. I add sliced cucumber to the sandwiches as i make them.
Nicer and a lot cheaper than ham.

Fish Pie
My mum, of necessity, used to stretch a small tin of pink salmon into a family meal for 4. She flaked it into a buttery parsley sauce and topped with mashed potato and browned in the oven. Served with peas, half a tomato and bread and butter. It was a favourite tea and although only a tiny bit of salmon, it was very tasty. I think she mostly had mashed potato on her own plate tbh.
Like many mums of her generation, she was a star:A!0 -

That's all we ever use it for tooHaven't made one for ages, but this has made me want one. They go brilliantly with salad. My recipe is so old it's all in ounces, with no hint of a metric conversion :rotfl:

Hi, I went to Morrison's and got a big tin of pink, it was £1.50. Plus for special a small 213g tin of red.
The big tin will do us for tea one night (2 of us) as fishcaks or something, plus I'll get a day's sandwiches for work out of it so a bargain really.
Suunygirl, I do love the sound of your pasta idea, I've got loads of tins of tuna that I bought a couple of weeks ago. Normally I just use it on sandwiches, but a meal out of it would be lovely, and save some money too.
I bought a tin of sardines in tomato sauce, they're brilliant for a breakfast with toast and fresh tomato. I think they were 44p, but I know the dogs will be on a mega scrounge when they see the tin being opened so I'll spread a thin layer on some toast for them too.
A little bit of tinned fish seems to stretch a heck of a long way doesn't it?
Hey Churchmouse, what's 'metric conversion'?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Barneysmom, I love tinned sardines as well, and have found the Asda Smartprice are as good as any, and 23p a tine last time I looked, and if you do not like them the dogs willEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
