So far, I have been to see:
Richard Herring (Hitler Moustache) at the Underbelly which was excellent. Very hot inside the venue though. You got a free Hitler moustache to take with you when you left as well - expect to see a lot of these on posters around town soon methinks
Potted Pirates at the Pleasance. This is essentially a childrens show, so myself (28) and my best friend were older than the target audience but we loved the Potted Potter show last year so gave this a go. It wasn't to the same standard as the Potted Potter show but was entertaining nonetheless.
Stephen K Amos at the Pleasance Grand. This was a really good show which started well and Stephen had the audience in the palm of his hand. I found the jokes for the most part hilarious and the audience interaction was really good. The theme of the show is the Feelgood Factor and he certainly achieved this. Minus one star for having a plant in the audience just to do an unnecessary closing number.
Mark Thomas (Manifesto) at the Stand 3. Mark is on a mission (As always!) to create a manifesto based on audience suggestions. He has actually wangled a meeting on the 19th of August with a cross-party group of MSPs to debate the suggestions from the audiences at his shows. At the end of the shows we vote in the suggestion we want him to take forward. I would recommend that anyone who can goes to see this show as Mark Thomas is a man who is an excellent comedian and political campaigner. Be warned though...the seats in this venue are tiny so if you are a person of a larger derriere (As I am myself) then sit with someone you know!and a half (Minus half for the tiny seats)
Shameless copy and paste from another thread!

Evening all
Well, today has not been the Fringe-filled funtime I was aiming for as Mr Fresian isn't feeling well. It's been ok though as I wasn't at work (Woo!) so had time to wander round the supermarket(s) and pick up some bargains so that we had enough food for the week. I got to read a (fairly bad) book and eat some tasty food, so it's not been a bad day all in all.
I also went to Boots to look for reductions that I read about on the Grabbit thread, and got 3 Soap and Glory foot care soaks for £1.25 each :j These are normally £5 each, so I have one for me and two in the drawer for presents. There was also reduced signs on FCUK smellies, but none left on the shelves! I'm going to try the Boots in town tomorrow too as I have some money left on my gift card
Hopefully tomorrow Mr F will be feeling a bit better and we can venture into the town and see some of the culture!

Ooooh I think I might check Boots out at the weekend as the Soap and Glory hair treatment is supposed to be really good.
I managed to get an Elle McPherson body wash from Boots once in the sale for £1.20 - think it's usually about £5-£6 and it smelt lush!!
Have a good day tomorrow f_f!

Thanks MellyB!
I don't know if the hair stuff is included, I think it's certain items in the spa range of products. Let me see if I can find the thread and pop back in two minutes and post it for you!
Click me for bargains!

Fantastic - very kind of you!
Will check it out and report back - it's payday tomorrow so will go check out what bargains I can find tomorrow. I reckon all the best stuff will be gone at the weekend!
They had a Boots No 7 make up sale a bit ago but the eyeshadows were a bit dubious - pink isn't really my color!

Ooh FCUK - I NEED not want
some more body souffle - I love it. Thanks for mentioning the sale.
Still need to book something Festivally - so bad of me. OH is being having a lot of bad days.
Mystery Pizza Hut on Friday - your name is in the frame for the next one - 16 pages of questions, I'm terrified I get it all wrong!:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
Money
PAD account = £11
Spends account = £30
Entertainment account = £23.60
Groceries = £71.13
Money in purse = £13
Days until payday = 9
It's odd. I feel as though I'm really skint at the moment, but I clearly have enough money to last me until payday. I think it's because I'm also subbing Mr Fresian for things like tobacco (Not proper ciggies, packets of rolling baccy)
I haven't done anything like what I need to do to keep me on track for being Debt Free By 30 and I don't really want to fail at that challenge because I started it :rotfl:
Work is once again not fun - this time we definitely have to apply for jobs. My job will no longer be there [strike]come the revolution[/strike] after this reshuffle so I need to apply to do something else or volunteer for redundancy. There is only one job available which interests me, and I may have to be willing to work in Glasvegas to do it, which is a major change (I don't have a car, and it's a hell of a journey on public transport) Either way, I won't know what the result will be until September. So, that's a bit poo, but there's no point in worrying madly about it.
I'm going to go and read comics now (Bought V For Vendetta with a gift card yesterday and it's the first time I have read it, so I'm keen to see how it is)
Hugs to all. Xx

I would strongly recommend Mark Thomas - call the venue before booking though and see if they can make arrangements to help you with access as it's down a flight of stairs then you exit through a long corirdor. Pain in the bum if you're clumsy like me, undoubtedly a nightmare if you're blind!
He's more about the talking than the visual comedy apart from a couple of slides projected on the wall (Which you could describe to OH)
Also, Miles Jupp is doing a free podcast for the Guardian every lunchtime which you can get tickets for. That might be good for Mr KissJen as well as by its very nature podcasts need to make sense to people who can't see what's happening.0 -
Brilliant - many thanks F_F.
We went to see a show last year at the Kings. Running late as usual, SB and I manhandled OH into the theatre, down the stairs, up the long windy corridor and to the door of the Auditorium. It was stowed out with Brownies and Cubs going boo hiss to the nasty evil pantomine villian.
Wrong theatre - should have been at the Festival...it was like a bad sketch show, nobody actually read the tickets when they ripped them and pointed to the Stalls. Now every time we go anywhere I have to present the tickets to SB for checking because I'm not to be trusted:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. I did Glasgow and I have to say it was pants - not the city but the travelling. I lost all my free time and trains cost a fortune. Not being neg honestly but it's a huge drain on time, money and energy especially if you have to travel at both ends. I thot it would be easy and jumped at the job. Started in late Feb so getting lighter every morning which helped but by autumn I was at the stuff it stage...oddly enough working almost exclusively in Brum and London by then which I found easier travelwise.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.
