Flying gleefully into 2009 - One Fresians adventures in debt-busting

A pretty good day at Fresian Towers today - I had a half day from work. Not for a good reason really as I was accompanying Mr Fresian to the doctors, but it was four hours less work, which is good.
I then went out for dinner with my friend, which cost a whopping £14.50 for main, pudding, a cola and a coffee thanks to my two mains for a tenner voucher. Hers was £12 on its own
I got home, checked my email and realised that I had won a competition. Click here for info! A brilliant prize for a geek like me, Mr Fresian is thrilled!

Money evaluation time again!
"Spends" account = £105.83
"PAD" account = £15.00
"Entertainment" account = £23.60
"Groceries" account = £114.53
Purse = £20 - and it's a nice crisp note so I'm trying not to spend it!
16 days until payday which isn't too bad I suppose!
I have paid for the hotel we need for my friend's wedding, and haven't withdrawn the money from my savings account. I'm hoping I won't have to use it to be honest. I don't see why I would have to unless something unexpected happens. I have used my credit card only for food this month and have repaid each time I have spent. Not taking it with me is helping a lot.
I have spent money on food (Groceries) and dinner out last night (Entertainment) this week, but these were budgeted for, so in terms of the Weekly Spend Challenge, which I have rejoined, I have had NSDsI'm aiming for a NSW (No Spend Week) by Friday *eek*
Nothing else to report really, Adventures In Cooking will continue tonight with Lemon Chicken (From a recipe on the OS board again) and then good old reliable tomtombeanie chili tomorrow

NSD down the pan due to brother needing sponsorship
Got lots of stuff from the supermarket for next to nothing by arriving as they started making final reductions (Finest mash down from £1.49 to 9p for example!) so we're well stocked until the weekend hopefully, although I do need to buy a chicken for Sunday lunch if I'm going to stick to my plan. I might see what else I can rustle up though to save the spends!
Made the Lemon Chicken from the recipe in the August Grocery Challenge and it was amazingly good (If I do say so myself!) and Mr Fresian was very complementary about it too :j I had yummy strawberries for pudding too!
Enjoyed watching Economy Gastronomy tonight as well - there was a load of us from the OS board watching along and commenting, which was hilarious. I'm looking forward to next week already!
No other news really. Hope all is well with the rest of the People Of The Internet!

Hi all,
Quick post from me as I'm off to go and see The Ugly Truth starring the lovely Gerard Butler, which looks God-awful but will be free thanks to my cinema pass. And did I mention Gerard Butler?
Odd day Chez Fresian - more work turmoil, which I am leaving unspoken, and my flatmate is moving out at the end of next month. Urgh. He is going to help me decorate and steam clean his room though so it's not all bad. We are in an ok location, so it shouldn't be hard to rent another room out.
Also, didn't have tomtombeanie's awesome chili for dinner as it turned out to be bolognaise sauce I took out of the freezer in my haste this morning so ended up having rice with that. Not bad!

Quick post:
- Without flatmates rent and making only minimum payment to loan I have a surplus of £20. Not enough. Mr Fresian needs a job or we need another lodger
- Work won't be sorted until next week so no point in worrying
- The Ugly Truth was a lot better than I thought it would be, and Gerard Butler is a fine looking man
- The Fringe starts today :j All tickets bought and paid for (No credit for the first time in years!) and myself and Mr Fresian are off to see Richard Herring tonight. Woo!
- Slow-cooked ham for dinner - om nom nom
*runs*

Oooh- let me know all about it!
I'm a fan of the Podcasts he does and listen to them with OH during our weekend lie in! I'm looking forward to listening to the live ones from The Fringe2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
I have been awake since 5am when my friend texted me asking me to do something she forgot at work. I am going to have to explain to her than when I wander into work saying that I've been up since 5am, this doesn't mean that I bounce out of bed with the birds, more that I wake up grudgingly. Muppet.
Richard Herring was fab last night, well worth a watch. We got our tickets for £5 each as well, so very MSE!
Plans for today are:
- Do overtime if my flatmate ever gets out of the sodding shower
- Call my other friend at 9am and make sure she gets her lazy *rse into work for 10am - she was out on the lash last night
- Make bolognaise
- Do lots of washing
- Pick up prescription for Mr Fresian
- Snooze in the afternoon
- Watch the Newcastle game on the telly
