    Hi to all,
This is day 2 for me. Yesterday went quite well. I was happy that the shakes were filling and kept me going at least until the snack time. I had half a berry bar (free with starter pack;)) in then morning as it was cold here and I didn't fancy fruit, and half a slice of ham and 2 small tomatoes in the afternoon. After tea I didn't really want anything as I wasn't hungry but had a yogurt for supper.
Today has been fine too, really liked the choc shake for breakfast, but I'm having the vanilla one now and it just tastes a lot like the caramel one? So far so good. I was really hungry for my lunch shake as I had to pick my son up from school (unplanned) and I nipped into Asda to pick up some offers. DS offered me a sweet in the car on the way home and I was tempted, but managed to say no with no real regrets, which I've had on previous diets. Do you know what I mean?- saying "no" when you are screaming inside "yes please give me chocolate!!"
I guzzled my shake quite quickly, and it took a few mins to start filling me up.
No headaches so far anyway and I feel pretty good (sneaked on the scales this morning and I'd lost 1.5 lbs) I know this is bad *smacks hand* but now I know it's working I feel more motivated not to slip up.
Does anyone know if you can have options hot chocolates as/with a snack on this diet? The powder has 60g per 100g carbs, BUT when mixed with water (as you'd drink it) there's less than 4g per 100g. Any ideas?
Better go do some exercise as I haven't done much today, but I do feel like doing some so that's a good sign.
Good luck to everyone on the plan.

  • Hi all,
Just checking in to see how you're getting on Mrs B! I hope the plan is still going well. What I'm mostly worried about is the meals you're allowed to have in the evening i.e no carbs (I live on pasta and am not really a meat person!) It seems to be quite strict and I'm not entirely sure whether I buy into the whole low carb thing anyway. Something needs to be done because my diet is dreadful at the moment; since I finished work an hour ago, I've had a bag of minstrels, a pop tart and a nutrigrain bar which is basically my dinner. I stocked up on Celeb Slim from Rowlands yesterday so I'm going to begin on Tuesday and fingers crossed all will go to plan! What kind of thing do people eat in the evening? How is everyone getting on with the plan? It'd be great to see how you're all getting on.

So did you start the CS yesterday Goldilockz, and if so how are you finding it?
This is my day 7 and so I weigh in tomorrow - getting a bit nervous. I find the breakfast shake/morning snack half a bar/lunch shake is fine. It's just when I eat "normal" food that I get a bit confused and scared that I'm not doing it right.
Anyhoo it's going fine and I am not feeling hungry much.
Oh may I remind you that if you are intending to go on with CS then maybe buy another week's worth before 31st as Rowland's are giving away 2 meal bars free with a week's pack, but only in August.

Hope everyone else is doing well too.

  • Hey Mrs B,
Well done on making it to the week mark! I haven't begun yet but will be tomorrow. Let us know how you get on with your weigh in! Oh yeah, I am slightly worried about the evening meal part. I'm not a big meat eater so hope I don't run out of ideas. All I can think of to eat is chicken or an omlette. I got the CS recipe book but there's not much in there that tickles my fancy (I'm such a fussy eater, you'd wonder why I need to lose weight!) What sort of evening meals have you been having? Thanks for letting me know about the 2 free bars in August; I will certainly be stocking up!
    Good luck tomorrow,
    Jen xx

    Hi Appletart and everyone
Just thought I'd update a bit - lost 4lbs in my first week. I was a bit disappointed as everyone else seemed to lose more (and it's not like I've got little to lose either ;)). But I think there's a couple of reasons for this - previously I always drank loads of water so I've had less water loss than peeps who didn't drink much before CS, and aunt flo is on the horizon, and I usually put on a good half a stone so any loss is good! I'm also feeling a[STRIKE] bit[/STRIKE] lot constipated:o so I think that has something to do with it too. (I've even been taking fibre capsules too!)
Big bonus is my fat % has gone down too so, having done the sums I lost 7lbs fat, but only 4lbs weight so I've gained either 3lbs of water which will go next week or 3lbs of muscle which I doubt :rotfl:.
    Roll on week 2!

  • Hey all,
Glad to hear you're doing well on the diet Mrs B, hope it's still going just as well. I managed a day but by night time I was telling myself that perhaps I should just be happy with myself and not try to lose weight (i.e. trying to justify to myself why it would be ok to eat chocolate which is exactly what I ended up doing) so I haven't been successful yet but might give it another go tomorrow. I found it quite tricky at work when everyone was asking why I wasn't having lunch and having a shake instead. Anyway, I am currently surrounded by pringles boxes and chocolate wrappers so I wouldn't mind losing half a stone at least. I'm just not sure yet whether this is the plan for me (bit of a bummer really since I just bought 3 weeks supply of shakes!) Hope it's going well for everyone else and let us know how you're getting on!

  • Hi everyone

Well today is the end of week 5 for me and I have lost 1 stone which I am thrilled to pieces about!

Goldi, I was exactly like you when I started because I just didn't think that I could fit the program into my life style plus I have quite a thing for crisps! However I thought that I should give it a proper go for one week and then see how I felt. I had such cravings for lots of savoury foods and had the worst headache I think I have had in a long time. But I stuck it out and lost 5 pounds in the first week. This gave me such a great feeling that I have just kept going.

I also found it hard taking a shake or soup to work as I tend to lunch with my work friends in our restaurant. My solution was to make lunch my balanced meal. So my day was -

    B'fast - Shake
Snack - Fruit or half a CS choc bar
Lunch - my healthy balanced meal
Snack - Celery with Peanut butter
Dinner - CS soup (or sometimes shake)
    Snack - Yoghurt and fruit

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi Heatherchook!
What great advice, thank you. I'm glad you're doing so well on the plan, it's very inspiring. I got up this morning and felt extremely bloated and almost cried when I looked in the mirror, wondering how I could have let myself get this way. I have barely eaten anything today as a result. I am going to give CS another go tomorrow and hopefully I'll stick with it this time. If not, then it's probably not the plan for me. It'd be interesting to see how everyone else is getting on.
    Take care,
    Goldi xx
