Day 4 today and not feeling any better.

Trying to alter the times of my shakes a little but feeling very lethargic still. I don't think the cold helps either.

I will see the week through but at this rate 7 weeks will be intolerable

    How are you feeling?

TBH, it's really a crash diet. The shaking is due to low blood sugar and tummy pains are common due to the lack of anything solid! Your body is saying that it's not liking it. I'm a big believer of listening to your body.
You need slow release carbs. You're not allowed ANY at all, the only carbs you're getting are in the form of sugar from the meal relplacements. This will send your levels right up making you feel great, followed by a massive dip which makes you feel lousy.

The symptoms I had were unbearable for me but some can stick it out til your body adjusts to the huge change in diet. Some are able to run on reduced calories as their metabolism adjusts, be warned though as it's easy to put the weight on once you stop the diet due to this adjustment.

My body type is a Mesomorph with a little endomorph. I've a fast metabolism and am fairly muscular, I need plenty of protein and carbs. Feel a bit lazy and stupid taking on a diet I knew probably wouldn't suit me. Gone back to watching what I eat and exercising again and it's working really well. :T
  • I am waiting for my order to arrive and will be starting as soon as,can anyone tell me who have recently started on CS how they are doing so far :j

The whole concept is totally different to slim fast. Slimfast is not an accredited meal replacement programme and does not contain anything to help hunger pangs. From the ingredients all slimfast seem to contain is sugar, (i.e. carbs) which is totally opposite to the idea of celebrity slim.

Actually, it is not the opposite of Celebrity Slim at all. Each Celebrity Slim shake contains 26g of carbs, 24.6 of which come from sugar! That is the same as Slimfast. And both Slimfast and Celebrity Slim contain caseinate (calcium caseinate) which helps you to feel full. Neither are "accredited" as you say.

I have never used any of these products but am hesitant given the number of chemicals and sugars involved. Eating healthy, reducing carbs and unnecessary calories (i.e. sodas, juices which are healthy but don't fill you up, etc) is a good way to lose weight and keep it off.

Not to mention, has anyone looked at the nutrition facts for their products? The soup packets contain a whopping 850mg of sodium and the larger soups have over 1300mg! That is more than half of the suggested daily intake. How can anyone tout this as healthy?! You should reduce sodium intake if you are trying to lose weight. The last thing anyone needs is water retention making you look puffy and bloated.
  • I'm starting today - fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!

  • The only thing that puts me off is the milkshakes have to made with water instead of milk and taste a bit odd. This is why I prefer slimfast shakes.
  • I've done 2 weeks so far, feel ok, but I am hungry.
I'm keeping to shakes, the soups are beyond revolting.
  • Wold anyone care to report back on progress? I am thinking about going on this diet. Another question? Do you really need the programme guide?

One solution to healthy, long term weight loss i found worked is to eat clean and exercise. I recently lost 3 stone in 4-5 months with the eat clean diet by tosca Reno. She didn't invent this "diet" but has made it accessible to many people. It's a simplified introduction to healthy eating and shares some of the principals from the celebrity slim diet. You don't need to spend lots of money on shakes and bars to follow the eat clean diet. You just need to buy one book. You can probably get it cheap on eBay or just google the definition of eating clean (for free!) and follow the principles to succeed.

I have to say that I am just a bloke who has never tried fad diets and the eat clean diet was my first ever attempt at losing weight. I had many people (mostly women) asking me how I lost weight so quickly. The diet is aimed at women more than men so check it out. It's educated me on healthy eating. I'm now looking beyond this starting point and want to gain more knowledge in health and fitness and healthy eating but I will always point people towards the eat clean diet as a great starting point.

good luck with your weight loss!

  • Hi all,

I put on a stone over Xmas so started dieting on New Year. In 5 days of celeb slim I lost 8.5lbs. I followed the diet exactly: meal shake, snack bar, meal shake, snack bar, dinner with low carbs then a snack in the evening. It's amazing.

However, for this weekend I ran out of shakes and woke up late so I would have had to had a soup one for breakfast. Instead I had just the bare minimum of healthy foods but I put on 2lbs.

Definately not breaking the cycle again it's not worth it! Only had one headache but hasn't realised it was a side effect. It was a bit like a tension headache and went away after a few minutes.

MONEY SAVING TIP: don't buy the bulk soups and shakes, it's cheaper to buy the same amount of sachets individually!!! Works out 26p cheaper per sachet.

    Good luck everyone x

Good to hear the diet is working for someone. Also thank you for the tip about saving money. I will be buying the starter pack but only because it includes the shaker, the diet plan and the diary!
