Not a very good week, haven't really got myself motivated at all! The weight I have lost is only what I put on last week - and my budgeting has gone completely AWOL! Hardly any money until payday, and it's such a long month. Have done all the things I shouldn't - Co-op shoping, not planning, buying magazines. My head is all over the place at the moment.

Went out for dinner with some friends last night. Had a good time but eveybody seems to be moving on in their lives and I am standing still!

So, same list for next week - and fingers crossed for a bit more success! :o

Having a bit of a thinking and philosphical day today. I know that I can be a bit of an all or nothing type of perosn - and I think this is holding me back. If I don't stick to a really strict budget and pay loads off my debts I just spend stupidly and go back to all my old bad habits. If I don't stick to a strict diet I binge eat. If I don't exercise everyday I don't exercise at all!! Then I just get overwhelmed with everything - and achieve nothing  It's all just a vicious circle  I read diaries on here and really admire people who do something everyday towards reducing their debts and reaching their goals but I have come to the conclusion that it's just not me. I admire those people so much but I now realise that one bad day would completely throw me and send me on a downwards spiral back to square one :o

So, here comes the new philosophy!
    • I will not spend without thinking and allow my debts to increase with nothing to show for it. I am paying all my bills and now do not have 'end of the month' panic. Debt collectors are not harrasing me, I am up-to-date with everything. This means I can live my life and slowly the debts will decrease. I can get my nails done, I can dress well and look after myself - and I can accept any invitation I want to :j
    • I will steadily lose 1lb a week and never allow my weight to increase. This way I will have lost the 28lbs I need to lose by my birthday without having to put my life on hold. Whilst I am losing weight I will enjoy whatever my current weight is and not let it rule my life or ruin events:j
    • I will make exercise a part of my life because I want to feel healthy. If this means that some weeks I only exercise once that is fine, it's a part of my life :j
    • I will work gradually towards my goals in other areas of my life, work, home, friends and maybe a relationship. These will be baby steps towards my longer term goals
    • Everyday I will do something just for me, just because it makes me happy :j
Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!

Ooh, I like this one!:D I have been thinking that 2-4lb targets are just too much for me, and that if I can lose 1lb a week I will be fine by Christmas and that does seem doable. I like the bit about enjoying whatever your current weight is, as I have been thinking about getting to Christmas and being the weight I want and forgetting that I won't just ping back into shape on Christmas Day:rolleyes: I will be losing it gradually. You are right about the never letting it increase, even a week where you don't lose is a step in the right direction really. Am now subscribed to your diary:D

    Hey SG,

I like your new way of thinking :D Good luck with it! I'm trying a more positive approach to things at the moment too, fed up with always being negative and never doing what I say I will.

OH has set me a challenge to get down to 10st by Good Friday and if I do then he'll take me on an all expenses paid shopping trip for my spring/summer wardrobe...this is a challenge I can't fail!!! So have about 8lbs to lose...fingers crossed.

I need to get on with the money side of things also, tending to slip there too. Managed 10.5 hours overtime this weekend so not a bad start eh!

Look forward to catching up on your new approach soon.

Quite a good day for me. No pressure on me but actually, I have eaten quite well - no bingeing :j

And have treated myself to a facepack and deep hair conditioner, so that's today's thing just for me :D

    Hey Shoe Gal,

I have now found your diary & am subscribed :D . I read one post & was all ready to get the waggy finger smilie out as you were just being so hard on yourself... but I was then very relieved & happy to see your later post where you are much more focused on being happy & valuing yourself  .

It may help you to know that just since reading the last page I have consumed a packet of crisps & 2 hobnobs :o.

You are doing so well in so many areas of your life so be proud of those achievements & never forget how dam fabulous you are & that you're doing all this by yourself so give yourself a big star for that alone :D

    Well done you :A
