Well, today has been a pretty good day! I really think there may be something in this 'not beating myself up/baby steps' thing
Today I have eaten well, done some exercise, got to work before 9.00, drank a litre of water and crossed a couple of 'admin' things off my 'to do' list :D
And no 'you're hopeless' feelings cos I didn't have a big list of things to achieve/potentially fail at ;)
Had a good chat with my boss today and, although he was telling be there would be no salary increases this year, it was a very positive meeting
Going to try to carry on like this, tiny 'to do' lists to try to get me to be a bit more organised and generally doing things that are good for me
Todays treat 'just for me' is an early night with a trashy book !!! :D

    Hi

Been very busy at work the last couple of days - and very tired! Family birthday during the week too! Haven't acheived much in the last couple of days but didn't set myself any big targets either (!) so all is good :rotfl:

Have booked a days holiday today - my first day off this year  Still in my jamas at the moment, my daily treat for today has been to watch Jeremy Kyle :o (read something on Lula's diary about what is considered a treat in our debt free lives - mine is watching Jeremy Kyle!!! I have to confess I love it (him!), have been known to watch the repeats in the middle of the night when I can't sleep :rotfl: )

Off into Manchester soon to buy an outfit for a party tomorrow. I am determined to buy something that makes me feel fabulous :j With my new philosophy I will not wait until I am slimmer/debt free/in a relationship before I make the best of me.

Wish me luck, will update later x :D

Am back home, the shopping trip was a disaster  I am now officially fat and it's all my own fault   Nothing that I would want to wear fits/suits me, I looked awful in everything :o I am at rock bottom

I know it seems vain to be so upset about the way I look when so many people have real problems but I feel so down

I hope this gives me the kick in the proverbial I need! I need to stop comfort eating and start exercising

The only good thing is that I didn't spend my vouchers, couldn't even face buying shoes :o

I know exactly how you feel - I absolutely hate shopping with an absolute passion. If anything is guaranteed to put me in a bad mood - it is clothes shopping! Nothing fits properly, it makes me feel odd shaped as if I can get it to fit one area, it is massive on another or tight on another bulge :D . I always find Next quite a good bet for clothes, they tend to fit me from there, but the minus point is that it is quite pricey compared to some other shops. I have a £35.00 voucher and another £15.00 voucher that I was given for my birthday but I keep telling myself I am saving it for when I loose weight! I might end up never spending it :D

I have managed to save myself £20.00 per month by cancelling my weight watchers monthly pass and I am now an official volunteer at the meetings (I'm apparently the one that gives the cards out!) this means I no longer have to pay to go. :money:

Lurker here, hope you don't mind me dropping in...

Sorry to hear that you had a bad shopping trip, when you started off having such a good day (put Mr Kyle down now, you know he's got to be back on air in the middle of the night...you don't want him to have bags under his eyes ;) ). For what it's worth, I am sure that certain shops have seasons when they suddenly decide to cut their clothes to the most bizarre shapes imaginable, forcing me to consider whether my posterior has suddenly doubled in size and my arms have gone the way of bingo wings. This always seems to coincide with my wanting to spend...grrr.

I reckon that finding something that makes you feel pretty, witty and sparkly (not necessarily literally) is an important part of feeling good about yourself. Now if certain shops are not rising to that challenge, then we are talking bad shops  who should do better.

So in the absence of good shopping today, is there anything else that you can do to pamper yourself. Jamas, bubble bath and trash tv?

    Thanks Hollyberry

Have calmed down a bit now :o Found something in my wardrobe that I can wear to the party tomorrow without scaring small children, so that will have to do :rotfl: And of course, I will be wearing fabulous shoes

Will soon be time for my other slightly dubious addiction - Corrie! Double Corrie and Friday wine methinks :rotfl:

I do envy you the shoes. I think my feet were modelled on a frog, so wide that I should be able to "ribbet" when necessary. Fabulous shoes have never been part of my life, save for one glorious turquoise embroidered pair from East (they had one of those freaky design moments on and made a pair fit for this frog, then reduced them megabucks as no one else had feet wide enough for them). I shall take my green ribbeting shoe envy away....
