Told my parents that I have made an overpayment and mum said "I thought that people said that you shoudn't pay back your mortgage early". I asked which people and she replied "the bank people" Made me chuckle

Well its dinner time at work, so thought I would ramble on for a bit and inspire myself to do stuff when I get home

Still need to find out if my water rates are over 10 months so I can use this money to overpay mortgage but folder with bill in, is in the cupboard of doom so can't motivate myself to sort out all the stuff that will fall out

Got confused  over Tescos clubcard statement as only got £3.50 voucher and I was expecting more, rang them up and they told me that the £3.50 was for using my Tesco credit card and I would get another statment for my clubcard. So :T as I will get £14 in deal vouchers just for paying with a credit card instead of a debit card

Asked about the 500 points for joining as they were not on my statement and was told there had been a mix up and they would be on May's statement

    It's great isn't it.

I got £26.50 for using my credit card for almost everything.

Just got back from a week in Egypt paid in full with Deals vouchers.

Sorted through the cupboard of doom on Tuesday night (transfered it to the floor of doom) but seeing all those bills on the floor bugged me so I finally sucumbed to filing them all away. Found a cheque amongst it all so need to pay that into bank

Found water rates bill and it is split over 12 months, so no free months to go towards mortgage overpayment.

On a plus point food shooping is looking like it will be about £100 under budget for Feb so that will give me a nice chunk to pay off the mortgage

Paid in the cheque I found into bank on Saturday so £26 more money into the account, paid it into my savings account though (my possible new car fund)

Went food shopping and only spent £22 so that give a grand total for Feb of £97.

Decided to round the figure up to £105 that will go towards overpaying this month plus £75 from free council tax month

Have added an %overpayment column in my spreadsheet for each month and for January it came to 387% (I blame you lot for this - you know who you are ;) )

So for February (and to satisfy my obsession for neatness) I am adding £13 pound to this months total to give an overpayment for the two months of 500% (5 whole months extra this year so far) so I will be writing a cheque at the weekend for £238 (£105 left over food budget, £75 council tax, £40 cancelled gym membership, £5 current account interest)

Plus point sorted through some jeans pockets and found £8 (£2 coin so in the jar it went) think I'll treat myself to some new socks with the rest
