    Hi

Another quick question and thanks for your help so far.

    1. Am I able to add to my DRO? I applied the 1st of September and I've just had a old company chase me for a debt.

    2. I have a social fund loan I was paying, should the payments stop now?

    Cheers :)

Once the DRO has been submitted you are not able to make any further changes, so the old debt would not be able to be added on.

The social fund loan payments should stop, get in touch with DRO unit if they havent and ask them to send the notifications of DRO again...

How old? When did you last acknowledge this one by payment or in writing?

I spoke to them on the phone about it about a week before I got the dro. I thought nothing would come of it because I didn't hear anything from them but I got a letter just after I had the DRO.

Why did you not have this included on your DRO? If you spoke to them a week before your DRO was applied for, then you knew there was another debt...

I made sure everything was included on mine, and my case worker also used my experian report to check for any others that i hadn't remembered (not that i had forgotten any!)

All debts have to be included dont they??

All debts are supposed to be included, and as much as many advisors will say it's the applicants responsibility to add on all debts, some may simply not know that's what is expected of them. I know that where I work we press and press and make sure client's know that all debts are included, however i know that some advisors in other organisations may not be that hot on it.
Unless this debt takes Em's debt over £15000 she has done nothing wrong, and it is simply an unfortunate error as she is still liable for the debt. If it takes the total debt value over £15k she ought to contact the DRO Unit who will revoke the DRO. I would then advise her on going bankrupt to clear the debt, which is all enveloping irrelevent of whether the debts are on the forms or not
