    Thanks fatbelly :)

She has a rented property but it hadn't been decorated for a long time so she used her inheritance to redecorate all rooms, replace old furniture and recarpet lounge and hall, stairs & landing. As I say she didn't receive much but it was enough to do just that. She is worried that if she is successful with her application that she should mention receiving the inheritance to her adviser.
i got my dro last week and the adviser never asks a question about have you had money...she doesnt have any now so it doesnt apply...tell her not to worry..:)

Yes, it's a qualifying debt now and will be discharged at the end of the morotorium.

Not sure what the 'make your own arrangements' is about - you are prohibited from making payments towards debts (with a 'blind eye' being turned to rent arrears) that are scheduled in your DRO.

Pleased that worked OK. They were one of the later additions to the competent authority list.

I take it they didn't charge anything apart from the statutory £90, or try to sell you anything extra.

ok thanks fatbelly...its perhaps just the standard letter they send like i said but i was a bit worried, anyway you have now put my mind at rest and if they contact me i will just send them a copy of my dro...thanks again..:)
  • Hi again

Can someone please help me in clarifying what this particular sentence actually means.

"Fraudulently concealing, destroying or falsifying any books or documents relating to your affairs, during a period of 1 year before the application date and up to the end of the moratorium period".

If you come into money over £10000 and the intermediary adviser doesn't ask you what has occurred over the past 12 months so you don't tell them, is this a crime?

Also can you cancel a DRO once it has been submitted but before you get a yes or no?

    Many thanks.
