Oh dear helnag, but as I said to a certain other person in the week, that really took some courage to come back and admit you slipped up, though it's such a rotten shame it happened. Never mind, your disappointment is clear to see, but you have to put it behind you now and move on. Look upon that one as being a blip, don't go right back to the beginning again as it may just topple you and make you quit quitting, please don't let that happen!!! Keep up the resolve never to weaken again and tell your mum that you DON'T smoke anymore. If she still lights up the go for a walk - anything to not be tempted.

Well done Jon, good to know about the water, sorry to disbelieve you! Now try oranges and large apples. Yes, cleaning your teeth every so often really does help as it refreshes the mouth and is another way, in so doing, of taking cravings away. You'll find that everything in your flat as well as you, your clothes and hair etc will soon have no trace of that horrible smokey pong! You will soon be free from the nicotine in your body now Jon, 72 hours!!!!

Hi TisMe!!! Day 6 eh, very well done indeed :T, so too is that CM reading of just 1!!! Yes, I wondered where you'd vanished to, but good to know you were away succeeding! Carry on treating yourself to choccy 'for not smoking', just make sure you don't overdo it and work it off before or after so you don't put too much weight on.

[quote=_ameliarate] I am so astonished I got through yesterday without giving in altogether that I am really not going to beat myself up about it all, just carry on not smoking. I am not even thinking about how many days I have not smoked I am just thinking, "right got through that one on to the next".

That is a wonderful attitude ameliarate, :jI hope you feel so very proud of yourself. Keep up that day at a time thinking and you might just really surprise yourself at what you CAN do!!!

Oh dear, oh dear whathavewedone As to the feeling tired etc; whatEVER did you take 2 night nurse and a voltarol for?????? Night nurse is obviously for colds and voltarol is an anti-inflammatory and gives the side-effects that you describe ..as well as many, many more that you can well do without unless you (no-one else) need them, and as far as I know, are only prescribed!!! I can't take NN as it make me feel lousy, not to mention shattered, why not stick to the "Kalms" and get your sleep in the natural way. Otherwise, you've done amazingly to get to day 13, so well done on that :T, but......!

Poor you stroppy, though you did say yesterday or day before that you were PMT, in which case try to hang on until that's out of the way, in the knowledge that you'll soon be feeling much, much better. You have come so far now so keep telling yourself how proud of your achievements you are, and even though you're scratchy to the family, they'll forgive you and no doubt OH has explained to the little ones. Spots, crying, feeling fat etc all goes with PMT so ride the storm stroppy. You say you don't feel any better for having stopped, but I bet you do tomorrow! It's up and down with you at present, keep it going and ask yourself ...would you wish to go all through this again???! Get out for a good long walk with the kiddies and OH today and enjoy the fresh air together and keep giving them all cuddles and letting them know how much you love them, they'll still all love you no matter what!

Very encouraging posts Mimi and ameliarate marvellous! :T Your too Tisme! :T

It's set to be a beautiful day everyone, go on out and enjoy yourselves and breathe as deeply as you can and as much as you can and fill your head with "how beautiful my new life is feeling!"

    Sue Thinking of you ALL.

    Morning everyone...

I've had a really hard weekend with various stuff happening and I've so wanted to smoke but I haven't. Went through a strange half hour last night, shaky, aggitated and had an awful head ache and all I could think of was smoking but I couldn't get any cos the kids were in bed so I planned to get some first thing this morning. Now I'm awake I'm so glad I didn't last night. I'm back on the wagon after my wobble. I now realise how hard it's gonna be and that this is now the hard bit but I am determined and will be back here every time I struggle. Ignoring my wobble...DAY 7!!!!! YAY!!!!!!

    Thanks Sue-UU.

  • New milestone.

Went out for oh's birthday and neither of us smoked. Had a really good time. Very pleased.

Su-uu the voltarol was prescribed for me after I had my son (c-section) and the night nurse was left over from the cold I had before I quit.

    Won't do it again!

Poor Stroppy, try not to cave in, you will feel better soon. If you do though I really recommend you try some patches and start again that way. There is no need to suffer like that!!!!!

Just a quick note to whathavewedone, Ameliarate, halnag, stroppy and everyone else in the early stages of stopping smoking ...

Good luck today ... you're getting through this and, if you don't have one today, it'll be easier tomorrowicon7.gif

I've slowed down in my reading of the Allen Carr book ... a busy weekend isn't helping, but probably just an excuse:rolleyes: I read a few chapters in bed last night and am now about 3/4 of the way through it. Anyway, I've made a pact with myself that I'm buying no more cigarettes (bought the last two packs yesterday) and whether or not I finish the book by Tuesday (or the fags), I STOP on Tuesday. I think the hardest part at the moment is trying to face up to the fact that I'll NEVER have another one after that, but I'm trying to think positively.

Enjoy the sunshine today everyone and KEEP GOINGicon7.gif

  • I'm on my last day of step 1 patches. Got two packs of step 2 (half price in boots) to last a couple more weeks and then going cold turkey after that I reckon.

Also bought some Kalms. You have to take loads of them 2 tabs 3 times a day after meals. What with them, my vitamin C and my Perfectil capsules I'm going to rattle when I walk.

Got a vile hangover but really glad I didn't smoke last night and that I don't have to smoke today because we all know how horrible you feel when you smoke with a hangover don't we?

How are you feeling now Stroppy?

    Hi there everyone,
Feeling marginally better today, think its the whole weekend thing again.....plus my dad was over for the evening and night yesterday and think I got so worked up about him coming,Ive managed to avoid even seeing anyone smoke in the last 13 days and I knew he would be popping out to the garden all evening.....found it really tough him being here as i''m ok when i'm in my own little no smoking bubble, We always used to have a few beers and ciggies together and i missed it and thats why I got all mardy and stroppy
Anyway im still going ok though I have loaded the inhalor back up again which has made me feel ive gone backwards but hey ho at least im not back on the smokes!
Have downloaded that silkquit meter today though im not sure where its gone now  Im rubbish with computers it must be here somewhere!Well done all and thanks for the support.....
Loved the whole 'you will smell ' ameliarate made me chuckle :rotfl: and its true!
    Stroppy xx
