Hi Waccoe
Best of luck with the lower dose, have you stopped having cravings totally on the full dose patches?
Feedumall, I agree, it's ridiculous the amount we spent on cigarettes, I was spending more than I did on food. Glad you enjoyed your holiday
Hi stclair, I thought about champix but I've been self medicating with st Johns Wort and I heard some stuff about it affecting mood which I didn't fancy. I'm glad it worked ok for you.
I wasn't planning on going public with my quit but I read the OS threads and debtfree wannabe so I know how great the support is, and I could use it
Congrats everyone :T0 -
Hi Cath
I still have cravings but not as bad and not as often.
Congrats to you!

Hi again people!! It's great to see you all again. Sorry I didn't get chance to tell you I was going away, but DH & I decided on the spur of the moment to go and have a few days away. So off we went camping in the New Forest for a brilliant few days. It was just perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed it all. :j
I've got to go now (tea time) so will be back later but it looks as though everyone has been going sooooo well whilst I've been away!!!:T See you later all.

A very warm welcome Biggybum and I hope all has gone well with you and that you're a non-smoker now. All the very best in making it to a really healthier lifestyle ....and money in your pocket!! Have a good read through the posts here as there are some amazing tips to be had.
Good to see you back again elfen! Keep on trying and one day it'll just click in. You're still so very young and have so much life ahead of you, please focus on that and not chucking it away on the fags! All the very best this time around!
Rebecca, if cutting right down to just 2 at night is working for you right now then that's all that matters. It sounds just like me all that time ago ...and look at me 11 plus years ago! I'm hoping it won't be long until you get to the point that I did when you think "why do I do this????" For now, you're doing just great, but don't go over the 2!
Cath, you sound as though even when you get stressed you recognise straight away that fags WON'T solve it or make it better, but there are many of us who never fully realise that, well done you! You're over that great first week now too, fantastic!!! :T
Great news Andrew, you really are doing sooo very well. :T Congratulations on 46 days free!!!
Very well done Caz, you're doing so very well, and keeping as busy as possible, just the way to go. 10 days is great!!! :T I was so very sorry to hear about the death of your DSIL, but how marvellously you coped with it!! BTW, I too was affected by hay fever after stopping, it may have been coincidental but I doubt it. Day 10 is wonderful, and with luck the cough should soon be clearing up.
Hi oldreekie, good to see you still staying true, and whatever happens, please don't think of throwing in the towel as you'll hate yourself a day or so (possibly far less) for doing so. It has to be hard being around a smoker, but whatever his quips to you, who has the far better health now!!!! You old cynic you, fancy even thinking like that about the NHS! Maybe they simply feel it would be too long on patches etc. Stay strong and determined OR, you're the better person!!!
Very many congratulations to stclair!!!!! :T:T:T You're doing sooooooo very well. It's good to see your updates every now and again. All the best!
Great to see you back again feedum!!!! :T:T:T 2 years is brilliant, the 2 holidays too!!! BTW, that wasn't a ramble it was a wonderful incentive to everyone here, they can see from others like you that they too really CAN pull this off it they stick at it!!!
That's terrific news bluebellbunny!!!:T Try you're hardest to not think about fags anymore and all what you think are cravings will soon go away. BTW, it's not really a proper craving for them anymore as the nicotine left you after 3 days, what it is is the blessed gremlins messing with your head every now and again. As soon as they get in knock em out again by thinking great thoughts of wonderful events in your life. Holiday memories are good ones, or looking forward to a holiday in the summer perhaps. Keep working on them BBB, you'll do it!!
As always everyone, keep hard at it. You are STRONG and CAN do it. As stclair says, it's the best thing he's ever done, you too will be agreeing with that one day soon!!!

Hi All
good to see the thread still going and a few old faces are still loitering
Well, its 11 months today since i had my last cigarette, facilitated by evil tonsillitus i actually gave up the evil weed and have stuck to living without it.
I still have days when im gasping, but most of the time im totally fine without them
Its like a long standing embarrasing argument has finally ended
Good luck to everyone starting to quit and keep going! Its definately worth it!

Hi All,
Hope all is well in the smoke free world!
I havent posted that much recently however I'd like to update that I have not had a cigarette for 3 weeks. I was most worried about this weekend as I was away at a wedding for the weekend. I always find with wedings even those who don't normally smoke are smoking  also, the amount of alcohol doing the rounds definately doesnt help! To my suprise I managed it without a cigarette and didnt even think about it much beyond the first glass of bubbly :j
Hope you're all going strong.
