I can barely believe it....I was sitting here looking at Andrew's post when I thought, "Hmmm..what is the date?". Then I saw it was the fifth of May. I think I actually gave up on the third but I know by the 5th I put in my journal that I had finally quit.
Here I am, a year later. Keep it up all....it soon flies by.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Good evening Em
Well done for getting through your bad day. I have had a good one today, getting better day by day.
I now look back and think to myself that if I can get through those really hard days then why give in today when I coped those other really hard days and then today doesn't seem that bad. It is all in our heads and we have to beat it.
I am not sure if that makes sense to anyone else but I know what I mean.
Keep the faith.

Just popping in to let all you new quitters know that this can be done! I quit smoking 15 months ago, and honestly thought I was addicted for life. Not so :j If you are really determined to quit and see being quit as a gift to yourself rather than having 'given up' those nasty fags, then you should find it a whole lot easier. You're not depriving yourself of anything, other than poor health, a load of money, and smelling like an ashtray!
All the best,
Pam0 -
Well done larmy - many congrats !!

Certainly makes sense to me! I think the Zyban is really helping, I'm actually thinking about food more than cigarettes (I'm on a diet!!)
Crunch time will be this weekend- I have a girlfriend coming over for dinner (and no doubt a bottle of wine!) I think the drinking without smoking will prove fairly difficult but I guess I shouldnt be drinking whilst taking Zyban anyway  I can't give up everything I love though so it's bye bye cigarettes, bye bye chocolate but hello to a few vinos!!

Just got back from the Dr's and im pretty dissapointed. She said no to prescribing me champix and instead gave me patches. She said to see her in 14 days if they dont work.
They dont like to make it easy for you! Must admit im pretty pee'd off about it. Could of got patches last week from Boots when I saw the lady if I wanted to go along that route.0 -

That's strange, I'm on Zyban and didnt have any problems getting it. Patches made me very itchy and I told my GP this and she suggested Zyban. I don't know whether it's depending on the views of the doctor you see, and maybe which NHS trust you fall under. I have heard that champix and zyban arent for everyone but if you've tried everything else I'd suggest going back and stating the reasons you want to go on tablets and not leave until you get what you want! Good luck[STRIKE]Saving for a deposit on a flat[/STRIKE]
