FEE100 well done on not giving in. It will get easier - promise. Probably you are under a lot more stress than usual what with kids and all the frenzy regarding Christmas. As you are doing it at this time, you deserve a gold star.

Look forward to reading your posts later. :)

Thanks guys for the messages of support. Amazingly that works:cool:! Had a bit of a stressfull afternoon as both my kids ill with sickness and the runs, but I struggled through..
A wee bit about me an my habit!! Smoked since I was 13 (or maybe 12) and Im 42 now. Never a 20 a day person maybe more like 7-10 so not a heavy smoker but I did really look forward to them.
I have 2 children 7 & 8 didnt stop smoking when I was expecting them but did cut down a lot:o. Im married and my hubby doesnt smoke or drink, so that should make it easier in the house as wont b smelling some1 else`s reek.
Bought the patches on Monday (reduced to 50p) :money:though I had been thinking about it for ages (since I was 25) the fact that they were cheap was just an added bonus! I did stop about 5 yrs ago for about 9 wks but as soon as I came off the patches I wld have one when I was out wi friends and having a drink etc.! This time you cant smoke in public places which I think will make a big difference, most of my friends have stopped now and I dont go out as much (getting auld)!
I am REALLY REALLY missing my fags today but Im not gonna rush to the shops for a pack Im really gonna try and stay off them this time. so wish me luck!!!!

I'm not missing it at all anymore. I've been out to lunch with a friend that smokes and also been on long car rides with my sister who smokes and haven't had one (this is in the past two days)

I'm quite happy, never thought that i would get this far

Stay strong everyone, keep posting. Did I miss that Sue is on holiday or something?

Hi Larmy - no, I've not been on holiday, far different than that. I've had a rotten throat, sinus and chest infection and felt awful. I'm getting better but still have a course of antibiotics to complete - coughing etc too! Although it's all made me quite poorly, it's NOTHING to how I'd have felt IF I'd still been smoking!!! No coughing all through the night or struggling to get my breath - yet still thinking I needed one of those rotten things. No more thank Heavens!!! :D:j

What some amazing news from everyone here, especially tiger-eyes, MumOf2, Mollie, greenpixie and Bruce!!! :T :T :T :T :T You're all doing marvellously and have so very much to be proud of. This is a heck of a thing you're doing and you've already gone so far!!! Keep it up everyone and just think of the achievement at the end of your journey!!! :j

Well done FEE!!! No matter what comes along - always take on board that no amount of fags will make it right! They'll simply stress you out even more so and get you back to the person you're fighting hard to get away from - a smoker! Welcome to the world of non-smokers where stress (horrible stress) is a thing of the past and where a whole new way of life awaits you. Get your health back FEE, for your sake and for your kiddies! Come on the board just as often as you wish as it really does help. There are some great folk here, some having quit for some time, others on their journey just as you are, but who already know just how wonderful having quit just days or weeks ago feels - and IS! Keep strong FEE, read through all the posts, listen to the advice, take the support and talk about how you feel and...if all goes as YOU wish and you take one day at a time - you too will soon be advising others on how great a journey yours is!

Plenty of water, fruit and EXCERCISE!!!!! You'll be amazed at how good all are.

All best wishes with every step you take everyone and I totally agree with Larmy, Jo and all the others - NEVER, EVER give into thoughts or the words of someone else and take "just one puff" You may regret it for the rest of your life!!!

Sorry to hear you have been unwell Sue, hope you feel better very soon. As you saythat would have been very nasty if you were a smoker still.

I was with a friend recently, who has untold amounts of antibiotics for chest infections etc but she still continues to smoke. Also a lady who had a stroke, but still can be seen outside her work place puffing away. It is so sad, but shows the strength of their belief that they need to smoke, despite doctors telling them both they must stop!
