Well done to everyone so far its great to hear how other people are doing, There was a few times last night at work that i wanted to give up on the quiting as everyone else around me was smoking but got past that thanks to Sue's Tips. :T
Although the strange thing is im not really thinking about cigs at home which is quite surprising but they are coming into my dreams everynight one way or another and it always ends the dream with me smoking!?
Hope i can continue with this i know it will be better in the long run, 5 days and counting
Thanks again for all help0 -
Well done Beaney, you are doing so well. Just tell yourself all you are experiencing is normal, eg. the dreams etc. You have to concentrate on only one thing, when you do think of smoking or getting a craving is to relax, breathe deeply and let it pass.
It will........then you (with great pride in yourself) can forge on with your journey as a non smoker. You are already one......nicotine will be doing it's best to trip you up!

Well done Irish and Tiger, it will start to get easier. Getting such a good reading will give you the encouragement you need to carry on.
I will be 2 months for me next week, and over the last few weeks, I really have not wanted one at all, so feeling really good about that.
Need to loose weight now LOL.
Good luck all

I'm so pleased it had an adverse affect on you tiger-eyes, so often it throws folk back though, so beware. Have a good look around for that something that will take your mind from the blessed things. Is there anything you used to like doing, or something new you could take up perhaps. Above all, take your mind back to a wonderful time and fill it with all the things and folk involved. So glad the thread is helping, we all have Jo to thank for that from when she gave up last January (08) since then it's gone from strength to strength with so many having quit since! Stay strong t-e!!
Beaney, you're doing very well indeed, every time those thoughts come to mind when you're at work, push them right out of your head and bring other thoughts in, ones that are of times that you've thoroughly enjoyed yourself in. Have a glass of water to sip, take some long, deep breaths and you'll soon pass through it. Keep this up and you'll soon set a kinder habit into your head. Good luck and keep strong!
Hi D, you are doing so very, very well and are a great influence to more recent quitters. It's always a really good sign when folk having got where you are with it all are able to help give advice and support to others. Well done D!!! :T
All the very best as always everyone! The pride you'll always carry with you from here on will be so very worth all the effort and determination you're needing now, but all too soon you'll be through your journey and able to thank Heavens that YOU gave it up by yourselves!!:D

Morning
Some great encouraging posts.
Larmy I was about to respond re the hynotherapy that I really couldn't afford it, then of course how can I justify £3.05 a day ? Well I can't.
Beaney, yes I understand the throat burning sensation, is strange. I think I can cope with it though.
Something has happened this last week - a good thing - that has put my head in a different place it may all be something of nothing, but It's increased motivation to stop.DC.

Whatever it is DC, go for it with all your might and I hope with all my heart that it's just what you've been searching for!!!

DC I would go without anything to afford my hypnotherapist! Mine is not that expensive and I reckon with the elimination of my chocolate bill it will more than pay for itself over a year!!
Besides, it's not just that - he has helped me see that what has been missing in my life is using my creative side which is the one thing that totally absorbs me and even eating takes a backseat.
I have resumed a hobby which I hope will make me a bit of money too, but that's not what is so important anyway, it is the boost to my self esteem and the loss of "what's it all about - being on a treadmill" feeling.
I have not felt so good in years!but realistic good, not high on a hilltop good, which one crashes down from.

Congratulations Larmy!!! Oh, I do wish that everyone could find something like that, something to totally immerse themselves into, using hands and minds, wouldn't it be great!! D'you reckon he/she would do a 'job lot' on everyone here????!
