Hi larmy and thanks. We had a great time and lovely weather! Where did we go?? West Scotland...noted for all it's rain!! Having said that, so many in the east suffered dreadfully from torrential rain, we must have been blessed!! :D

I see you've been doing a great job here, wonderful work larmy, please keep it going as it's a great help to all!

All the very best everyone. I hope you're all having good times and counting the days of freedom from the weed. For anyone struggling a little, then come on here and get it all off your chest. All good wishes everyone.

  • I stopped smoking on Sunday (25th Oct). I didn't plan it although I have made many attempts in the past. I was off sick for a few days and decided to use that as a 'launch pad' for stopping.

Now I'm back at work and I've just realised that I haven't actually told anyone I stopped which seems a bit odd to me - probably my past failures haunting me!

Anyway, I came across this thread and decided to post so now I have told other people. :D

Good luck everyone, I'll keep reading other people's posts as it is very encouraging. I'll try and post my contributions too.
  • .....still going

Feeling very rich! Can't believe how little cash I'm getting through.

    Still not changing my mind.....:money:

A very warm welcome to the thread geoffgeofftygeoff (or maybe ggg).

Well done on quitting once again, let's hope this is the time that you succeed for LIFE - yours!!! You have the PM now and I hope that it'll give you a fair amount of help, but as you've noted it's reading the posts of others that really does provide incentive...especially the posts of those who've achieved success!! Use the thread as a battering ram and pour out all your feelings, good or bad, it really does help you get through.

Hi IWRS and VERY well done so far! :T You really sound happy with your new life, and I'm so happy for you. Keep staying strong and keeping that determination up...you'll be so proud of having done so when you get to the end of this terrific journey!! Hiya Puzzled and congratulations on 4 sensational months of good health once again!!! :T :T :T You've done brilliantly and must be feeling so very happy! I am for you!:D A word of warning though: what's this about "emptying your piggy"!! Be careful which thread you're making such admittances on! Forgiven though...this time! ;)

Keep staying strong and determined everyone, and let us hear from you if you're having problems...AND if you're doing well! Wishing you ALL well.

I am still sticking with it. It is over 1 month now but I did have a few hick-ups, so its almost 2 weeks with no caving in, so feeling really pleased with myself now.

    Good luck everyone.

I am eating way too much though LOL.
  • Hi All

Sue, Confession time - i did have to empty my piggy - got to the end of the month and had to pay out £15 for a prescription £10 for petrol for an unavoidable journey :(

However to make it up i am putting £80 straight in when i get home :) have deicided im not going to use it for Christmas but to keep going until February whrn my road tax is due.

Back to the non smoking - going great guns at the moment :) still not craving, its not bothering me to go out with friends while they smoke and the dr's are please with me too as they say some of the other health problems i have are made worse by smoking so alllll good.

Well done to everyone still going :D

ooooh, just remember, my emergency pack of 20 are now gone - after keeping them for four months i gave them to my housemate last night :)

Well done SL!!! :T At least you didn't cave altogether, but got over it and now have 2 good weeks behind you. Try to stay strong and build on it and soon you'll be chuffed to bits if you get to your first month, that really is a heck of an achievement!! :D How about reaching for fruit etc rather than fattening nibbles. Have a glass of water at the ready, also an apple sliced into segments at the ready so you can have a piece..or more whenever you feel the need. Anything like that will help and stop you from piling the weight on. How about buying some Ice Poles for the freezer, "Feedumall" (a very successful quitter of well over a year now!) used to swear by sucking on those as well as sour lemons! Go for anything like that...coupled with exercise!

Not to worry Puzzled, more than anything else it just struck me comical that you should say it on this thread! You know me though, I'm so pleased you had it by you to save having to pay some other way. I'm sure it was you and I that kept hold of ours at the end of last year if memory serves me correctly. I'm holding mine over this year too.....for a holiday of a life-time with my DH to our great friend in Canada...hopefully in the following year!! :j

    So VERY well done
with the quitting Puzzled!!! :TYou've really been amazing through it all and even had some extremely testing times when you did the sensible thing and stayed true to your health! Let's hope your house-mate will soon follow your great example!

All the best everyone, you WILL get through it if you stay strong and keep to all that you know will help make it happen!
