Kezzae go with the flow. Bet we had good and bad days too when we were smoking.
If it's any comfort I dreamt of cigarettes last night. I was waiting for everyone to go in the dream so I could light up on the sly!:D
It also had Robbie Williams, cocaine, the police and Ricky Gervais in it too.
Disturbed mind me?
Hope you got through all this ok. Take care....XGrocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

.......still going......:D
I have a really tough work day a head of me. I know it's stress that I find difficult to cope with, so fingers crossed.
Kessae hope things have got better for you:o I know it's tough. I've given up more times than I care to remember. Have a look at Allen Carr's book. It might help.
Smoking is really really expensive especially for 2 off you. Maybe you could focus on what you could spend the extra money on if you both stay quit. Extra mortgage for a bigger house? new car?
Kind Regards

Well it's one week at midday which is just fantastic :T:T
Felt great about yesterday. It was a really tough day at work. I did think about cigarettes but only because I was thinking "I'm doing it, I'm doing it I'm coping without fags!"
Anyway thanks for reading!
I shall probably pop back in in a week or if I have any nasty moments which ever comes first......

Hi everyone,
Thought I would join in with the conversations and give everyone an update on me as this is now the third time in a year that I have tried to give up and i am happy to say im now 18 days in (slight hiccup on the second day when i had one, but i couldnt see what all the fuse was about)
Anyway like i said 18 days in, going cold turkey from about 12-15 a day, and feel soo much better and have soo much more money, managed to buy some things for the house been wanting for a while but never been able to find the spare cash! im told it takes 30 days to make a habit and 30 days to break one, so im half way through getting this monkey off my back.
i ave managed to hold off the over eating atm by eating more fruit which has the added bonus that they are good for u. :-)
Should be interesting tomorrow (work in pub at weekend) will put my will power to the test!!!
Good Luck everyone else who is trying to stop, it is really worth it!! (now just gotta work on the last line!)0 -
Well done Lincsdan on your continuing success. Also for the sensible eating!
I am not on this thread so much these days as I have had to transfer to the Slimming world one!
Still I knew I had to tackle my problems one at a time. I was using nicotine in addition to all the usual reasons, to control my appetite or desire for sweets and chocolate etc.
I really feel that I have the smoking under my belt (while remaining vigilant!) and am now ready to tackle the other problem. I have been seeing a hypnotist and I have to say I have felt such a sense of equilibrium for the past couple of weeks. So that has to be good!
Keep it up all and welcome to the thread Lincs.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

thank you larmy,
does the hypnotist really work? i have looked into it as would be able to get it through my health benefit at work.
opps time for Kiwi
thanks again0 -
Lincsdan I tried to post twice last night but for some reason kept getting the message that the post was too short! Despite them being quite long! So apologies for delay.
I did not go to the hypnotist to stop smoking as had already done that. No it was more for help with lack of confidence and fear of certain situations eg. driving in unfamiliar places plus my need to turn to chocolate and sweets in times of stress or even good times, just like I did with the nicotine.
What can I say..........I feel more free.........Long may it last! HTH.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

I think there is a natural progression, once you quit smoking you eat more and need to lose weight! I've found that I don't post on here much anymore cos I'm on the quitting alcohol thread, then I'll probably need the Slimming World one
Only wish I could become addicted to fruit smoothies and carrot sticks :rolleyes:DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Or exercise - Jo! I fear that will never happen with me sadly.
As you know I kicked the alcohol many years ago, so I can't even stop doing that to get the weight off. My age is against me too - darn it.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01
