Kezzae
I found this for you:-
Hormones affect quit smoking success

EDIT I had to split the link as the MSE site would not let me post links as I'm a newbie0 -
Well done IWRS and Kezzae. I will always remember you Kezzae having that sneaky fag in the garden when your little boy caught you. I remember how terrible and guilty you felt and thought you were such a failure.
Look at you now - it is absolutely wonderful how you just took that blip on the chin, got back on the horse and on with the job (quit smoking) - you should be so so proud of yourself. I am with you on the cravings hitting out of the blue but they do go if we let them. It's focussing on them that can lead you to a fall......to me it makes perfect sense that they would hit at that special time of the month!
It is so lovely to hear you are still free and your husband.
IWRS fantastic that you have come so far through what is supposedly the worst time and still feeling determined....there is no other choice really....you either smoke or you don't. Well done and keep up the good work ...ps did the anxiety and guilt go?Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

IWRS Thanks for the link, it made interesting reading at least I know now that Im normal lol.
It struck out of the blue that was what un nerved me.......
Larmy, I still cringe when I think back to my 'blip' but Im glad that it did happen because since then when Ive had an 'urge' to smoke I just keep picturing my little boys face and that is enough to push the 'urge' away.Quit Day - 8th July 2009.0 -
Still going.......
By lunch time all the nicotine should have left my body. I will then be left with a mental battle. Although, the mental battle and the physical addiction must be sort of linked since my body has become primed to receive a nicotine hit in certain circumstances.
This morning feel totally brilliant. All the funny sort of,weird body, stuff seems to have gone. I guess that my body has gotten more used to the increased oxygen less carbon monoxide thing....
The work I have to do this morning is reasonably easy. The hard stuff I will tackle this afternoon if I'm up to it. However, I can put it off until tomorrow if I don't feel up to it but it MUST be done tomorrow.
Thanks for all your support.0 -
did the anxiety and guilt go?
I've been doing only relaxing things. Not sure if I'll become more anxious when I encounter stress.
I already feel less guilty. I have 3 great kids and I feel truly terrible about smoking - except I don't smoke now - so I can stop feeling guilty! Oh it would be so nice to look forward to the future because when you smoke you don't feel like you have a future to look forward to - if you know what I mean?0 -

Good Evening IWRS - you are doing so so well. You know of course that you do have a future to look forward to and you are doing great! Peace of Mind - what a gift. To think we let that smelly old devil nicotine convince us that he is worth so much more than Peace of Mind!
In my early days of quitting I found it helped to see nicotine as an entity that was determined to break my will. I used to swear at it - I would be walking along the road, passing a shop and he would be whispering "Just buy some tobacco" you can always stop again tomorrow. I would be effing and blinding ( silently if someone was passing by!)
Every day will get easier I promise until you will find long long stretches where thinking of smoking does not even enter your head. You are worth it IWRS as are all of us people who fell for the smoking trap. You can be free. One day at a time for now.

Have been out and had a drink around smokers and really pleased to say that it really didn't bother me.:Tomg thats hat i thought!!!! lol.
Have had a few bad moments or should i say stressy moments, but just shouted, sulked deep breathed and and then was fine....*sorry kids and hubbie, luv ya all really!!*

:TIWRS glad to see you doing so well:T
I on the other hand am having a really bad day like I did on friday of last week
I really dont know what is wrong with me? I feel so low and sad and cant get the thought of ciggies out of my head.
I know it sounds silly but I feel like Im greiving and I know that is the most stupid thing to say but that is the only way I can describe it......... I feel really really low.
Hubby is doing really well and I have until last week. I dont feel like I can talk to him about it so thats why Im rambling on here lol. Im scared that if I talk to him it will make him think of ciggies and he'll give in, then blame me and me picturing my little boys face is not having the usual effect.
Im having a 'beat myself up' day today definately because I know if I give in and have one then Il feel guilty and ten times worse. All the tricks that used to work to make a craving pass are not helping today and I dont know what to do...........
Also I dont know if its happened to anyone else but my grocery shopping bill has gone through the roof:eek: We are spending a hell of a lot more on food than we used to and the house is bursting with food but I still keep going out and buying more:o
Why I dont know.............
Ive not given in but feel like Im going to crack up at any moment...............:o
Hope everyone is having a good day and sorry my post is a bit of a downer.......Quit Day - 8th July 2009.0
