Well done to everyone.
Just wanted to share something.
I am away on my hols to Turkey for a fortnight on Monday. Marvellous eh?
But I have also just booked an 11 day holiday in Sharm El Sheikh in November and do you know how I have been able to do this? By stopping smoking, that's how. The most part of the reason I can afford this second holiday is because I am now no longer spending between £5.63 and £5.83 (and I believe they are more now) on Marlboro lites and I have been putting more money away into my savings accounts as a result.
If that's not worth it nothing is!
Oh, and I attended an exercise class last night and my breathing can only be described as just about perfect - despite me currently being very unfit, I can tell a distinct difference in the non smoking me. :T0 -
Good Afternoon All!
YAAAAAY! I made it past a week! AND it's still not difficult, and I don't remember half the time! i hope it continues this way! only time will tell but so far so good!0 -
You have done yourself so very proud SandC and deserve all the merits that can now be found in this new non-smoking world. You went like ahead like something possessed, determined to QUIT it....and you HAVE. Very many congratulations to you SandC!!! :T It is indeed marvellous! Have a wonderful time in Turkey, then when you come home you'll still have a amazing holiday to look forward in November! Thanks for all the incentive you've passed on, I'm just so delighted you found yours in the first place!
Hi Anna and excellent news of overcoming that first week + 1 day!! :T If you stay in the frame of mind you've put yourself in, there's no reason why why you too couldn't be doing exactly as SandC's doing before long - see her post above. She has done tremendously well, and as far as I can remember, she's never once complained. She knew she wanted to quit smoking and she's done it, and YOU can do the same. Stay focused on the goal Anna and you'll get there, but that first week is terrific and I'm so chuffed for you!!!
Keep strong everyone and your journey will be fantastic, to say nothing of the goal!

Good for you dizzybee! So, hopefully the new patches aren't affecting you. In time look forward to your own holiday after squaring up your debts. You'll feel a heck of a lot better once the debts have gone AND you've quit the smoking too! You're doing a great job, keep it up!

Good luck funkymonkey, hopefully it will work for you this time - it certainly did for me - first time too.
larmy and dizzybee well done for keeping up the good work.
I feel quite virtuous sometimes you know. But I have said to people if I ever become that horrid 'ex smoker' patronising everyone they must give me a slap.
Sue as always, thanks for your support.0 -
Today is my three month anniversary!!
I'm also off on a little holiday today and trips away have more often than not been what has made me start smoking again when I've quit before, the last two times anyway. No way Jose this time though, it's not a trigger for me anymore because I don't have any triggers now, I am just happy to be a non smokerI'm not trapped anymore.
Good luck to all the new quitters, get through each day one day at a time and you'll soon be hitting all the milestones. I'm looking forward to 6 months now (which my DH hits in a week or so) and onwards and upwards.Well I can't stand by the side
And watch this life pass me by
Just want to be...Happy0
