I'm struggling this weekend, I only smoke usually after a few beers but Ive just come back from a mates bbq and now I'm in desparate need of one.

I've gone 10 days with out one but has anyone got any words of wisdom to stop me walking the local petrol station for a pack. I really want to give up but I'm weak and easily tempted when its only a 5 minute walk!!

Hopefully you found some resolve Paul, but if you didn't, don't beat yourself up too much. Just try again. Something in you will click eventually.

Well done to everyone and keep at it!

    Well done everyone so far!!!

I had a great weekend - I was quite busy but not once did I want a smoke! :O shocking! i thought a couple of times 'if i was still smoking i would go for one now...but i'm a non smoker woo!'. so that was unusual, but brilliant! and I had an argument on Sunday and thought 'normally I'd go for a smoke, but what would that achive? nothing, I'd still be angry but also poisoning myself'. The book's obviously got into my subconcious!

I'm not expecting it to be easy from now on - I mean I'm only on day 6, but I'm please with the way it's going! YAY!

Hi and welcome to the non-smoking world Mar.cresham, you too PaulB79!
I'm so sorry no one was around here when you so badly needed help Paul. I really do hope that with willpower and having gone for a fair time that you succeeded in getting through your rough time. It was obviously the mate's bbq that brought it on, and if you still feel able to go to them in the future then do so, but if they really do present a problem then keep away while you're vulnerable. It's awful to have to go back to the starting point again just for the sake of a "do". At times such as that, think "is it ever worth me going and getting a packet to fill my lungs with all that I've kept free from - all the poison?!" NO!!! It's just not worth it!

Good to see you again Larmy!

3 months and 2 days eh SandC! You've come a really long way and done marvellously!! :T

Well done mrbadexample! You may have spat the dummy a little due to the ref, far better than sucking on a bloomin nic stick though!! Keep the cuddly lion close by, just in case!!!

Very well done indeed Anna and dizzybee!! You're both doing so well and are sounding really committed, great news!!

You're doing brilliantly folks, never doubt yourselves and always keep strong. This is a rave you need to win - and CAN!!!

Ohh...you have no idea of the trouble I was in! I was just lucky I had the lack of nicotine to blame! :D
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

Congratulations on having achieved that 2 years free of smoking Russ :T Thanks so much for coming to tell us, it all helps in keeping everyone motivated.

It's well done for you too Paul!:T It doesn't matter how much time you've not smoked for, it's still one heck of a great achievement if it's only ONE day as it's starting on the journey that counts!

Most of us have been where you were dizzybee, the main thing is that you got through it...and even though you think you not succumbing was due to having to go to the clinic, I get the feeling you wouldn't have let yourself down, not now. I hope I'm right! ;) Come on the board at any similar times. Even if there's no one here, writing it down may just help you get through it. We used to have one very successful person who used to write texts, but never send them, but it worked to help her though as her mind and hands were on other thoughts for a while. Don't forget that all important water, fruit and exercise at such times! Good luck with the new patches!

Have a good day today folks and make it another day that you'll feel so very proud of yourselves by the end of it. I'm willing you all through it!
