Can't help it. I feel like a complete loser to be honest. I really thought my mind was flipping out last month with the panic attack and deep down I knew it was beer. So what did I do? got drunk. Felt twice as bad yesterday (and still feel nervy today)
I know this will pass. I'll feel fine tomorrow (hopefully), but I can't believe I let myself and everyone down. wah. :mad:0 -

Hey there - ta - didnt really leave just hid under the wheel hubs for a while bumping along the ground holding on for dear life with one hand. Ta Molly polly - you are all an inspiration.
Currently thinking (and most of you will think - about time?!?) that I can't even have one or a couple, cos then its lots, and then it sends me off on a tangent for about 2-3 weeks - which is very scary. I did do OK in Dec then crashed and burned thinking I could control things. Baby steps.
Dunno about anyone else but most of my pals (aside from here) (there are a few exceptions - but not many) drink alot if not everyday and excessively - guess I have chosen folk who do what I do - which is a bit of an eyeopener as well. Told alot of them am AF in Jan anyway - and a few of them have said (a bit tongue in cheek I think?) ok well we wont visit until you aren't AF. One rather grumpily said 'oh what do you want a medal?!?' - eek. Others have been ace - changed xmas pressies (wine) for non alcoholic ones etc.
The folk I have got friendly with I use to share bottle wine with (or two) etc whilst we blethered away. Its really making me think. I love my friends - maybe I need time to readjust me until I can cope with the 'normal' bits I share with others. I know I don't make sense!
xxTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:

Grey pilgrim - in Jan you have acheived double of my AF day's - you had a blip - that's all. I think you have done amazing things!
Am beginning to realise alcohol makes me very anxious too. Paranoid, etc as well.

Hi Fay,
Yes,its probably best to take some time to adjust yourself before going out with drinking pals.
I turned down a few invites at first and if they insisted on meeting, I would meet in the day for coffee/cake.:D
But I have gradually started meeting up in pubs etc now and I drink Diet coke with Ice & lemon. Some think it has Bacardi in but most now accept that I dont drink and dont bat an eye anymore.
Most are even pleased cause I always drive them about now.
I love the feeling knowing that even if I was pulled over by the police there is not even a single drop of alcohol in me where as I used to worry in case I was still over the limit next day.
Take care

Graeme - if you put someone on ignore, you can't see their posts. However, if someone quotes them, you CAN see that. That is all that is meant by that. Its not personal....... please don't take it that way
That's ok, I see what you are saying. So people will quote me (I hope)
Probably a little tetchy as am day 12 without a cigarette.
Giving up our passions/crutches/addictions etc is not easy.
Anyone who has done even 1 or 2 days Alcohol free so far this year is doing extremely well. Keep it up. Even if you cannot reach 31 days AF, you can still hit at least 18!!! Go for it people0 -

I felt as agitated and anxious the next morning as I did in december, so now I am convinced that it's the beer that is the root of the anxiety thing. Feel like a complete and utter failure now.
Suppose all I can do is reset the clock again. Lurkio, I'm 11/12 at the moment mate.
GP, it's not wasted, it's a lesson learnedRemember how you feel at the moment for the times of weakness.
I know that my times when I feel depressed or low is caused purely because of the alcohol and nothing else, I don't have reason to be depressed and I know if I don't drink for a period of a few days the depression starts to lift, hence getting the sunshine back.
Don't worry, I've jumped back up on this bloomin wagon, so sit down next to me and we'll hold on tight!DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -

back to the grind - x
I had constant anxiety and regular panic attacks when I was drinking (well, the periods when I wasn't drunk). When I stopped boozing, these unpleasant conditions went pretty quickly.0
