Morning All
Put me down for another 2 AFD (now 14 in total).
I really, really , really wanted a glass of wine last night . In fact I spent most of yesterday thinking of a glass of wine. The anticipation is better than the drink!. Kept thinking to myself why did I put myself up for that stupid 100 day challenge ( now done 4 days) where I will not be drinking all May, June & July. Thats nearly all summer . Still If i can get through those months then I can do anything.
Anyway ,last night, to stop the bells ringing, I went to bed at 8.15pm with the "She" mag I bought earlier ( not very DFW but cheaper than a bottle of wine) and managed to clock up another AFD.:T
Good luck tonight everyone. Its danger time for me as it is now the weekend !!
Have a great day

Morning everyone
Well I reckon I have heard it all now BHB:rotfl:Hope the new baby is doing well and Mrs BHB is managing to get some goat free time for herself too make sure you do your bit or the frying pans will be flying again.
Well done everyone for your AF days particularly Jo and Winebox
Fedupski congratulations on hitting your target:j
maman I know exactly what you mean about cutting down on the drinking days. The night before last I was AF until about 9pm when I would probably be well past wine time but I ended up having an impromtu evening chat with a neighbour and had 2 small (we are talking the old fashioned teeny tiny round wine glasses) of red wine. So at the most that was 2 units, so why did I find myself being disappointed for "wasting" a drinking day having sat in the garden earlier with a water?? Luckily I am catching these thoughts now and for me a big target in May will be cutting down to sensible levels on the days I do relax and have a drink.I am lucky I know in that I am finding AF days a lot easier now and if I have had a couple too many the day before I now feel I need a few AF days which is great and a big change to this time last year for sure.
Budgie where are you? One night off and I miss you I dont remember you applying for a night off so this will have to be an awol...none of that in May you know:D
Have a great day everyone, its back to winter here now so no garden winebells for me by the look of it:D
12 for me please HS29th Feb Quit Day :j0 -
morning everyone. woke up this morning feeling groggy and after 2 days sober, i feel rubbish, why do i want to feel like that every morning??
going for a haircut later, and going to tidy my house. usually i'd be tempted to get a couple of cans and waste the day, but not today. i'm having a tidy up in my house, going to do all the laundry (why is the basket never empty??!?!?) and then come back on here later. Speak later guys
luv ya!! xxxx0 -
Morning all
Fay - I've just sat and read your post and, as you already know, what you say rings lots of bells for me. I read each line thinking "Yep, thats me". I feel a bit like that this morning (I'll explain later). Hope you are ok today.
Dotstar - Its a bit of a vicious circle isn't it? Money worries can cause you to drink more, when really you know you can't afford it - either in money or in your health. Hope YOU are ok today too!
Yesterday I had a run in with a young girl at work. She's a lazy so and so and something happened that made me snap. I only work 4 hours in the evening and I'm sick and tired of catching up on stuff when I arrive that she should have done before I got there. So I started the evening a bit stressed and I didn't improve much from there on. Stopped at the pub with colleague on way home and had a pint of cider. Then went to the shop and bought a bottle of wine which I proceeded to drink.
So reading Fays post today made me think a bit. I immediately checked my phone to check to see if I'd text anyone (my usual trick). I hadn't so thats good. Have a feeling I talked OH's head off to the small hours though. So today I feel carp. Have to go shopping and wondering how long to leave it till I'm ok to drive. Thats AWFUL isn't it?????? Why do we let alcohol affect our lives in such a huge way??
Am going to TRY and have an AF weekend. I'd planned on allowing myself a drink tomorrow but will see how I feel.
((hugs)) to all that need them.
HS - still 19 for me please!

Hangovers....yep...it was while mooching round WHSmith feeling totally sick that I found Allen Carrs 'No More Hangovers' little book. That was what started me on the road to abstinence. And even now a year later I still vividly remeber my last hangover......just the thought of it still puts me off!!

Morning all
Ta for the nice posts - Jo texting in on your phone - aww x
Feel utterly sick and yukky today - had an early night - but am not hungover so onwards and upwards - away for the weekend and am resolved to drive and let OH have a drink if he wants one and return us home cheaply and will be sober.
Away on the plane tonight for two days for my friends 60th.
I am on 17 AFDs - and am more determined to see the month out AF - Molly I am seriously thinking I might need to print off my post and keep it somewhere safe - I really would rather not drink than drink.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Morning all
Gorgeous sunny day here. I hope everyone is ok and has a good day.
Planned drinking nights for the next 3 nights. Last weekend I found that because I knew I was 'allowed' to drink that I wasn't really bothered about itI did still have a drink, but I know I could have easily managed not to
I worked out that if I exceed my target of 10 this month and manage 13, then added with last months 17 AFD's that makes the equivalent of 1 whole month I HAVEN'T drunk :j I only joined in last month, so that means I have cut my drinking days down by half :j Plus on my planned drinking nights I am drinking lessThat feels goooood
Have a lovely Friday everyone xx0 -
Wow, this thread has moved quickly yesterday. I managed an AFD yesterday so 6/10 for me please Happy.
Fay, thanks for your post, I really identified with that and you described it very vividly and honestly.
Fluffy, I expect to be joining you on the naughty bench either today or tomorrow.
I fear my shower will be disappointing this morning!0
