Jo...I hope you get the money thing sorted out very soon.It really is horrible being in debt and not been able to turn anywhere for that little bit of help.And teenage girls...well what can I say.....They cost a fortune and always seem to want something really expensive.Dont know what to suggest really except maybe an IOU...or what about a pampering evening for her and her friends.Could you fish out lots of face packs, moisturisers, nail varnishes etc....let them make each other over while you supply pizza and nibbles....(cheaply;))Anyway...Good Luck:D

hello. I was admitted to hospital on tues night with sinus tachycardia (very fast resting heartbeat), bought about by stress, caffiene and.....alcohol. i was so ashamed to tell the doc how much i actually drink, i lied. i told him it was 4 cans of larger a night....but its more like 6 - 7. i'm in my mid 20's and have a child. i dont want to end up like those people in the guardian article. i have to have a heart echo at some point. so...this is it. I've had one can of larger today.

Hi all
Just read alot and caught up a bit I think - had a mixed time when away some drinking to excess and some abstaining - lots of thinking though.

I am on 8 AFD's I think - but need to go through my diary to see for sure.

Hoping you are all well - didn't get on well with going out for so many catch ups with chums and so many meals out with OH - drank alot of the time - when I drank I did to excess otherwise I abstained.

You are right MP - one never enough - home now and seriously skint as done a monster (6month) shop - birthday at the end of the month for a chum and for me - so hoping for a bright and bushy tailed month.

Kids back tomorrow from their dads - 10 days since I saw them - Eslet my kids love chess and my DD managed check mate in 4 moves on the boat for the trip away - I was gobsmacked - thrashed her later on right enough - glad you have had some time to enjoy your kids.

Jo hugs to you dear - xx and big hi to everyone else and new folks - after a long sleep and a sort out I should be back to normal again (well as normal as I get) will catch up entirely I hope tomorrow xx

Good Morning everyone.

Back from our Easter weekend away with friends - very nice time, a few drinks but I have got 2 AFD to add bringing my total to 5, thank you HappyShopper.

I've caught up on the last few pages and just wanted to send some big
(((((((HUGS)))))))) to everyone who's having a rough time at the moment. Hang in there and keep on going because all things will change eventually.

Quick hi to all.....feeling ready for an AFD today! Lovely start to the day - out with the dog walking past lambs & calves & horses in their respective fields, no cars at all so all very quiet & peaceful. Wish it was always like that! Feel OK despite humungus amount of wine & being still awake past 1am & awake again before 5 (why does the dawn chorus start so long before...dawn?! - noisy wotsits). Good luck everyone for today, esp Jo at the dentist.

WBF, well done on keeping your drinking days low, I think this board does make you think about alcohol consumption a lot and it seems that most cutter downers are doing really well!

Dot, welcome to the board and for posting. That must've been a really scary time for you and I think most of us on here can understand how difficult it is owning up to how much you drink to others (sometimes even to yourself :rolleyes:), keep us updatd on the scan and try and cut down your intake with some help and support from the lovely peeps on here, the sleep willl sort itself out over a week or so, please don't let that side-effect not put you off

Was AF last night, wasn't planning to be. My dear old mum gave me a winning lottery ticket for the princely sum of £5.00 and said to use it for petrol. I don't need petrol :rolleyes: so cashed it in and drove excitedly to the offy, decided to bypass the first one as the second one would be 50p cheaper (MSE all the way :money:)!! Got there, and it was shut!! I was forgetting it was a bank holiday and they shut half day. So I drove round the block intending to go back to the other one but decided that maybe it was a sign. Got home with no beer and was as miserable as sin all night long, trying to find an excuse to go to the shop but none materialised. Felt good about it eventually, once the danger zone had passed, and obviously I'm pleased today. But I mustn't be complacent about tonight cos it is so easy to ignore my heart and go with my head.

I could not sleep at all, went to bed at 10.50pm and was still laying there past midnight, then the dreams started and I kept waking up!! Feel like carp this morning but just cos I'm tired not cos I'm hungover!!

Starting to feel the nerves about the dentist which is at 11.45am. He is always running late, I've never been in there and had less than a 40min wait, I'm sure they do it on purpose!!! The worst bit of it is that I know I've gotta go back again to have the work done as it's too much for him to do today :eek: :eek:

I'll pop back later.....if I survive :eek: :eek:
