Happy easter everyone!
Hope everyone has some nice choccie . OH gave me a pair of boots - I know that sounds strange but I've never been a huge fan of eggs so he always gets me a pressie instead!
We had a lovely meal last night - just a salad with jacket potato and quiche but really enjoyed it (absolutely MASSIVE potatos from M&S ....a new shop has opened up on a retail park near me and I'm a happy bunny as I'm a real M & S devotee!!!). Have to admit to having a few glasses of wine with it though. Only a few though, didn't go onto a second bottle like I used to do. Had a lovely evening and very proud of myself.
Budgie...ok I'll keep Piglet here. Think I'd miss him if I posted him off!!
Jo - you are doing brilliantly!
Eselt - think you'll find thats a man thing. They get funny about giving presents out. My Dads the same - leaves it to my Mum!
Happyshopper 10 for me please!!
Doing an easter egg hunt for Piglet today...as long as the weather holds out! And I'm getting him making chocolate crispy cake nests with mini eggs in shortly. God help me!
Have good Sundays everyone....enjoy he peace and quiet of the shops being shut!!:D

Mixed emotions this morning for me
Whilst very happy to now be into my seventh day of freedom from the dreaded stuff on the smallholding things are not quite as good this morning.
One of the lambs dropped down dead for no apparent reason in the night and our old billy goat is having to be shot on Thursday because he can hardly walk no due to arthritis.
Whilst I am not really the sentimental type when it comes to the animals, Mrs BHB is really attached to the old goat and she also doesn't want the other lamb to be on its own. (we had two lambs to bottle feed from the farm down the road just to fatten up). She has now gone out to get another one to keep it company ...... which has now arrived as I can hear it calling in the barn!!
My point is this is one of my 'triggers' as the 'deal' is Mrs BHB is supposed to organise her finances to cover things like this. Bet yet again it falls on me to borrow some money from the mortgage account to pay for the slaughter man to come out from the goat. (I pay the household bills and she does the kids clothes food and animals - supposedly to save arguments over who's spending what). The slaughter man was out before Christmas for something else and it would have cost nothing at all for him to take the old goat at the time which was my advice to Mrs BHB at the time.
So now, as Mrs BHB hasn't got the money to cover it, we have to fall behind with the mortgage AGAIN (after finally getting on top of it this month), as not to see the old boy suffer any more.:mad::mad::mad:
So now I'm now gonna worry about making up the difference on the mortgage again when I don't have any spare cash ...... though the theory is I should not be spending on beer now
This seems to be the cycle and then I start drinking through the 'sod it, why bother!' reasoning.
On the plus side I have got an Easter egg
Sorry to go on and on
Anyway - home grown brunch coming up in the way of eggs, sausage and bacon .....told you I wasn't sentimental :rotfl::rotfl:
...... At least it hasn't put me off my food

Morning all,
:easter: to all
Well what a difference it is to be un-hung-over'ed, a total different frame of mind to the one I had 12 hours ago. It's such a great feeling that I can't understand why I very rarely do it!
Anyway, off to the outlaws today, which is a nightmare, although my gum around my wisdom tooth has swollen up huge and is so sore and OH's back is playing up so hopefully we won't go
Hopefully it shouldn't be too stressful as I've done the journey a few times now, driving back from there in 2006 was the trigger that started me drinking again after 4 months as they live in a place that is so utterly inhabited and inaccessible by car (i.e Hertfordshire ) that it's very stressful when OH telling me how to drive the car even though he's never learnt and 3 kids arguing in the back....well 2 kids, the 3rd bigger one will be attached to her ipod which will be making a really irritating noise....oh god help me
Anyway, back to serene thoughts :A
HP/HS/Jim, I've decided to back out of the April challenge thank you, I've already failed it and don't want that to get in my way. I'll see how this month goes and hopefully join Budgie's intriging May challenge. Hope that's ok?
Gotta go get kids ready for the outlaw trip
Have a lovely Easter Sunday everyone!

Sorry but....

Don't mean to laugh Andy, I can so sympathise with your situation and understand your trigger completely, the f*** it syndrome is a serious one and something I excel in as you well know.
Wish I could advise, I understand your wise thought before xmas about saving money, but I understand Mrs BHB's sentimental thoughts about the animals. Just wanted to send you a hug (((((())))))
Stock up on the Bitburger Drive!!!

This is called kicking someone when they are down. Is it any wonder I drink and suffer from depression.0
