Hi everyone, well I managed an AF free Good Friday so that's 2/10 for me please Happy, whichever gender you are! My money's on female.
I must keep plugging away on this and the losing weight thing. They are very linked for me too. Succeeding a little is better than not trying and each thing is moving us a bit in the right direction - It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop. Confucius.0 -
Well its getting to the time of the week where my urge to drink kicks in
Its not that I want to drink, Its just force of habit really, I don't even enjoy it anymore but it gives me something to do on a Saturday evening, TV is so rubbish. I've gave it up before, for 52 weeks infact which was quite an achievement considering I drank every single Saturday night at least for 10 years but it seems so hard now, as I say its just a bad habit, its just the Saturday night boredom that sets me off

Hi everyone,
BB - congrats on your achievement, 101 days - wow! That's really good going.
Jo & Winebox - thinking of you both. Keep positive - every day is a new start, onwards and upwards.
HS - 3 AF days for me this month please, not the best I know. Like a lot of people have said, seem to have gone into a bit of a holiday 'anything goes' sort of mood and the bad habits are back before you know it.
3 consecutive days of low-level hangovers, not enough to keep me in bed, but enough to act as a bit of a depressant. Sick of it now, it stops here.
Going away over Easter, will try to check in if poss but might be offline for a week or so. The next time I write on here I want to be able to say I've been uinhangovered since today.
Take care everyone - thinking of you all.

Boredom is one of the drinking triggers. I think a lot of it stems from we are uncomfortable with our own company too, as we don't think much of ourselves.
Can you arrange to do something on a Saturday night instead? So you have a commitment? Even if it is trampolining at the leisure centre to working at a soup kitchen for the homeless. Just something to get you out of the house, and most important, get away from your head for a while. It's our minds that make us drink - no-one is pouring the alcohol down our throats.
Think about it. All the best, Graeme.0 -
keeping busy is important to me...to help me when I decided to stop I took on some studying and that was a huge help...wasn't easy but it made a big difference in breaking the links. For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070

Hi all- happy easter, bonnets and all that! Eggs, chocolate, christ my dad bought a tray (24 of them) and said these are for the little ones- nice one really, but he could have given them out to his 4 grandchildren methinks!!! Or is buying them enough and I'm just being sniffy- probably.
Who's who on here then? I can catorgorically report that I'm a girl- not sure if that helps?
Good luck tonight everyone- hope you've got the chocolate lined up for tommorrows fest.0
