Afternoon all
Thank you Bis for the link to the Guardian article, it's a very sad state of affairs but something I think is going on all over the country. It was interesting at the end where they are debating the price of alcohol and not wanting to penalise 'sensible drinkers', what's a sensible drinker? Everyone's different!! There are not many people I know, apart from my mum, that will open a bottle of wine maybe just once every month or two and drink one 'normal' sized glass, then maybe have another one the following night as the bottle is already open then chuck the rest away. That is sensible drinking in my eyes, I don't know, what do you all think?
Obviously screwed up again last night, but have a new resolve today, did a lot of soul searching last night, that with Bis's Guardian article means I do not want to drink today. I will want to later I already know that but I am not going to drink today. Got to drive to the outlaws tomorrow in Outer Mongolia (pahh!!) which is stressful enough, it'd be worse with a hangover. I'm not feeling great today, not due to drinking, but my wisdom tooth is playing up which is giving me a sore throat and swollen glands too.
On the plus side, I've chucked a chicken in the slow cooker for later, will shread it and do a thai style soup'y thing with noodles I think, nice and quick so no time by myself in the kitchen which is my biggest trigger.
Speak to you all later xxDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -

Being carp at being af, reading thro posts & crying now cos being such rubbish. Like Stroppy will make new start after Easter. Even DD (9!) said "why is it always in the future Mum?"...not about the booze but about dieting & it's all linked of course
NTC hope you feel better in time to pig out on choc!!
Budgie thanks for your thoughts...x
By the way all (& HS pls contradict if I'm way off the mark here!) - I'm sure happyshopper is a girlie (except she doesn't like shopping!) but she did say the name of the face in the HS avvie is Jim so I think she's maybe being ironic.......

BsNtc I am sorry that you are still unwell and as you directly ordered your cold to be gone by today, then it jolly well should have disappeared by now. But I do hope you feel better soon, is there anyone to look after you at home? Anyway I will pm you by Monday if thats ok? I am looking for you to be my wingman/woman. Though you will not be able to directly take part? So please take care and look after yourself, keep warm and thankyou for my 100 day iconI know I have said this before but you so make me SMILE
Love n hugs xxxxx
Miss P I hope you too are feeling a little better? If you could post piglet that would be lovelyThough on second thoughts he would miss his mummy so I will take a rain check on the hugs please.
Take care and hugs xxxxx
Ld and 40sm hugs and I hope today is a better day for you? Lots of love and take care. xxxxx
Jo I so hope you don't drink today, just look at how well you did in March with 22 days af. THIS PROVES THAT YOU CAN DO IT, so I am rooting for you and I am sending you positive thoughts. Do you know this thread and you along with others are on my mind such alot at the moment. I so want you to succeed, for your family, for you and your own wellbeing. I agree Bis's article is scary and it is so sad that sometimes we can get to far down the rocky path that it is hard to turn back. So think of your health and please take care and hold the resolve not to drink. I wish you well and I send you my love. xxxxx
Winebox hugs and please don't get upset, I want to echo what I have posted above to you. You are also on my mind alot and I so want you to succeed to. You have a young family who need their Mum to be well and it is scary I know doing without a drink. But do you know I have realised that YOU CAN BREAK THE HABIT and yes it is not easy but nothing thats worth it ever is. So please try and hold the resolve as with Jo not to drink. I wish you well my friend, love n hugs. xxxxx
Bhb I have to agree that we do need to know who is male or female. (Btw I am female). Can Happy Shopper please confirm if they are: Arthur or Martha, to avoid any further confusion. Btw Hs another af day for me please so 11. Thats 101 in totalGc I know now why you put: "you do the maths" on your signature. :rotfl:Hugs to you all. xxxxxxxx
Upsy hope all is well with you? Also Miss London, Fay and GG? Hugs to you all. xxxxx
Ok better go now as have loads to do as just got in from work, I felt so stressed earlier it made me think that work does cause alot of people to want/need a drink.
:easter_os everyone, especially those that I haven't mentioned today, just don't eat too much chocolate. As Fb says it makes your clothes shrink :rotfl: Lots love xxxxxx
Cherish the ones you love and travel back on the road that brings you home
