:o:o:o:o:o:o Crawls out of the woodwork..........
Just popped in, not been around for ages. But on the up now
Belated happy birthday Jo, and Happy anniversary Molly :T:T:T:T:T ..... if only I had stuck with it last year, guess I would have been about a thousand pounds better off by now:eek::o
I think I had a turning point on Sunday after 12 units, after deciding my antidepressants were depressing me, and stopped them and the alcohol. So far so good .... Nearly caved last night, but literally only had £1 to my name so bought a bottle of shandy from Tescos which filled the gap.
Its been a bit of an eye opener this week as I have made it so I can't get at any money without a days notice so I can't just go and get some cash out or pay by card! Both Mrs BHB and I are having cash crisis month, though should be ok on Tuesday, if we live through the famine.. However will still try to make sure that I can't spend any on beer!
Hope everyone is OK ... sorry for my absence, back now though not sure if the forum will start to make me think about the beer more than what I would if I wasn't on ??
Best Wishes

I'm not supposed to be here, but had to log on quick and say hi to you Andy, glad you're back and hope you're enjoying the break from the perishables down the u-bends
:D:D Have you found the difference in routine of being off work changes your thoughts around drinking? I have, although must admit it hasn't made much difference, I still perservere to make myself crave for some reason
I am going to try the 'no money so no beer' thing and see if it works today. Good to have you back, hi to Mrs BHB

If you are struggling Jo just read back what you wrote in Feb:
I've decided to go with eselt's idea and say that I am no longer a drinker (with respect to Bis and GC that have their 'just for today' ways of doing it and that's right for them which is great). I was thinking about it on the drive home, I've decided to liken it to either me eating a dodgy prawn or my mum eating pork, both cause horrible things to happen, just like too much beer, either in one night which causes untold grief the next day or just enough beer to do the trick every night which causes untold grief in the long run. My dear old mum constantly tells me that (cue the old girl voice..) 'I like pork, but it just doesn't like me' and that's the way I'm working it. Also if I had a dodgy prawn and was sick as a dog the next day, there is no way I would say 'wow, that was indeed a dodgy prawn, let's have another and see if I can make me feel better!'. Why do I get hammered, then have a hair of the dog the following day?
I don't feel all that deprived tonight cos no one can stop me drinking, it's just I don't like the way it makes me and is controlling me so I shan't bother thanks
If you just stick with that theory, then it should be a walk in the park. :T0 -

what's this break from routine stuff? Nothing stuck in the u-bends but still loads of work this week and next I'm afraid. The place is crawling with contractors. It's aright for these admin people who have a fortnight off :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
With the no money now beer thing, all my spare after bills are paid is syphoned off into a Credit Union account automatically. The only way I can access it now is to either visit the credit Union office (40 miles away), ask them to load some on my prepaid maestro card which takes a day, or ask them to make out a cheque to pay a bill.
So in theory I can not now just whiz down the shop and get a few cans !:T
Best Wishes

Ahhh great to see YM and BHB back on here again. Hope you guys are ok
I am SO FED UP this afternoon, fel like another bloomin heavy cold is coming on, full moon due tomorrow affecting my moods, usual female time of the month too. A little chat at work regarding something has upset me greatly. Sick and tired of that place, no where else to go. Must be thankful I have a job in these conditions and I am very grateful indeed.
Still will be AF today.
Re the hangovers: they started to affect me in my late twenties more and more to the point now they are unbearable for me and my last huge hangover was at the end of Oct 08 - none since.
Hope everyone else is feeling happier than I am today, just want to go to bed and not get up tomorrow and cryfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
